What is the opportunity?

As the Associate, Investment Banking Technology, you will be responsible for supporting the Technology Group within Global Investment Banking at RBC Capital Markets.  The position is based in Sydney.

What will you do?

As a core member of a specialised investment banking team focused on the technology sector, you will;

  • Support the team to deliver solutions to private tech companies on their funding needs, including potential ASX or NASDAQ IPOs and private capital raises.  Sub-sectors of the focus will be software, Fintech, data analytics, e commerce, Education Technology and Health Technology. This will involve collaboration with our US, Canadian and UK technology teams
  • Support on the transaction execution, new business presentations and meetings
  • Develop and review financial models, conducting research and analysing data to assist senior team members to advise clients;
  • Perform analytical, due diligence and transactional support on transactions and business development;
  • Work with senior team members in the development of pitch books and related client materials
  • Proactively identify and escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks to line management and relevant control functions
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
  • Other such duties, responsibilities and authority as may be reasonably required.  

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Degree Holder in finance, commerce or accounting.
  • Excellent written, numerical and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, strong knowledge of finance and accounting
  • Previous investment banking experience with a focus on the Technology industry and with in-depth experience working simultaneously across multiple geographies, cultures and time zones.
  • Familiar with computer applications such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
