What You’ll Be Doing
 

As part of CIBC’s Global Markets team, you’ll join the Wealth Solutions Group, focused on delivering expert financial and economic analysis and relationship-oriented solutions to our clients. As an Associate, you’ll market Foreign Exchange (FX) and Precious Metals products to CIBC Retail and Wealth clients, including Personal Banking, Wood Gundy, Investor’s Edge, and third-party clients. You’ll drive growth in sales, execute trades, analyze market trends, and report sales performance. You’ll also collaborate with other teams to cross-sell products and contribute to product development and process improvements. This is a fast-paced environment where you’ll engage with clients through inbound and outbound calls and in-person meetings. You may be required to work beyond normal business hours, and occasional travel or time away from the office may be necessary.

Please note that we are open to hiring at either Analyst or Associate level based on skills and experience.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Sales Management: Sell FX and Precious Metals products to CIBC Retail and Wealth channels, and manage relationships within Global and Retail Banks to grow business.

  • Client Engagement: Cross-sell Global Markets products, execute client orders using multiple platforms, and develop timely solutions in collaboration with product heads.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor and analyze market activities and economic factors, responding to client requests with informed insights.

  • Continuous Development: Proactively develop product knowledge, participate in cross-training, and share expertise within the team.

  • Process Improvement: Generate ideas to improve operational processes and increase team productivity.

Who You Are

  • You have an undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Commerce or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

  • You have project management skills. You can effectively navigate shifting priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Your proven ability to develop viable product ideas and lead product development from conception to completion ensures successful outcomes. In a busy, fast-paced environment, you excel at efficient time management, consistently delivering results and driving initiatives forward.

  • You are outgoing and engaging. You consistently build meaningful connections across teams and departments. Your approachable demeanor and strong interpersonal skills enable you to foster collaboration, drive shared goals, and create a positive, inclusive work environment.

  • You have strong communication skills. You can clearly articulate complex conceptual information on issues involving extensive knowledge based interpretation, both in person and over the phone.

  • You are curious by nature.  You approach challenges with natural curiosity, proactively seeking out opportunities to solve problems and develop innovative solutions. Your forward-thinking mindset enables you to anticipate needs and think several steps ahead, ensuring both immediate and long-term success for your team.

  • You have strong technical and analytical skills. You confidently utilize tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access to enhance productivity and support business objectives. Your ability to work with Python, SQL, and VBA is considered a valuable asset.

  • You’re fluent in English; French fluency is an asset.
