RBC

Associate, Graphic Designer – Client & Marketing Strategy

TORONTO, Ontario, Canada Full time

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The RBC Capital Markets' Global Marketing team is seeking a creative and passionate Graphic Designer to join our design team. Reporting to the Global Lead of Design and Branding, this role will assist in owning the visual identity and design excellence across our client-facing and internal marketing ecosystem. This role bridges creative strategy and execution - you'll help shape how we present RBC Capital Markets to our clients, amplify our brand differentiation, and set design standards that elevate the Global Marketing team's output. We're looking for a designer who combines sharp creative judgment with pragmatic problem-solving, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is eager to grow their skill as our design function expands.

What will you do?

You will own the full design lifecycle for assigned campaigns and initiatives. This means you'll work from initial brief through concepting and iteration, make informed decisions about design direction, implement feedback, and see projects through to production and delivery. You'll manage vendor relationships, coordinate with print and facilities teams, and ensure quality at every stage. Under the guidance of the Global Lead of Design and Branding, you'll be the design authority on your projects, accountable for both the creative vision and the practical delivery.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Creating graphic design assets for digital and print channels. This encompasses web and social media assets, event signage, email communications, animations, sponsorship advertisements, brochures, flyers, and promotional materials.

  • Translating brand strategy and design systems into cohesive, on-brand work. You'll maintain RBC's visual standards across all touchpoints, establish reusable templates and image libraries, and ensure consistency with dedicated quality assurance at every step.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional partners in Digital & Social Media, Content Strategy & Insight and Regional Business Marketing Teams to understand business objectives. You'll pitch ideas confidently, incorporate feedback constructively, and defend design decisions grounded in strategy with a solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Managing vendor relationships and production logistics for print and digital distribution. You will oversee the installation and lifecycle management of in-office and on-site signage, ensuring proper setup, placement, and takedown aligns with campaign timelines and brand standards.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years of professional design experience in a marketing, agency, or corporate environment.

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and Microsoft Suite.

  • A sharp eye for composition, typography, and photography, paired with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • A bachelor’s degree in arts, Design, or a related field.

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation

  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities

  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team

  • Opportunities to do challenging work

  • Flexible work/life balance options
