The Associate Game Hardware Technician supports game development and testing by installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Electronic Gaming Machines and associated hardware. The role ensures lab infrastructure reliability through facility maintenance, network wiring, and inventory management while providing responsive support to engineering and test teams.
Job Functions
Move, install, set up, maintain, and reconfigure Electronic Gaming Machines and related components.
Perform hardware troubleshooting down to the assembly level (e.g., printers, bill validators, cables) and up to server and network inputs (e.g., switches, controllers, routers).
Provide day‑to‑day and remote technical support for test engineers.
Maintain, organize, and manage support and replacement part inventories.
Wire and maintain networks to support testing environments.
Support lab facility maintenance, upgrades, and reconfiguration as required.
Education
College coursework preferred, ideally toward a degree in Electronics or Computer Science.
Experience
Technical background with a basic understanding of electronics.
Minimum of 1 year of electrical or electronic experience.
Ideal candidate has experience as a Gaming Technician or Slot Technician.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
PC repair and general hardware maintenance skills.
Strong understanding of computer hardware operation and principles.
Familiarity with software test methodologies, procedures, and the product development lifecycle.
Results‑oriented mindset with the ability to multitask and take initiative.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Clear and professional communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Detail‑oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to interact courteously and professionally with coworkers, including problem resolution and decision‑making.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, reach, kneel, lie prone, hold, push, pull, and lower equipment as required.
Work Conditions
The work conditions are representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations. Full-time, on-site role at our Reno studio; 5 days per week.
