Overview:
The Global FP&A arm of Gartner is seeking a talented Associate Finance Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset to join its Conferences team in India. In this strategic role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, driving financial excellence and enabling sustainable growth for the Conferences business. You will lead a high-performing team of associates, leverage advanced analytics and champion digital transformation initiatives to ensure the business remains agile and competitive in a dynamic marketplace. This position combines advanced analytics, business partnership, and team leadership, focusing on delivering actionable insights, optimizing processes, supporting growth initiatives, and providing thought leadership to Gartner’s key business unit and its leaders. What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with Conferences business leaders to deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and insightful analytics that inform decision-making.

  • Act as a strategic advisor, providing superior analytical and business support to guide investments in targeted market sectors.

  • Drive and support the planning and execution of budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, identifying risks and opportunities to optimize business performance.

  • Analyze and explain variances to budget, forecast, and year-over-year results, delivering actionable recommendations.

  • Extrapolate linkages between large volumes of financial and operational data to generate insights and distill complex concepts into executive-level presentations.

  • Champion best practices in analytics, process improvement, and automation to enhance reporting quality and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data integrity, support business initiatives, and manage ad hoc analyses and special projects.

  • Provide weekly, monthly, and yearly reporting, as well as detailed analyses, to enable timely, fact-based decisions.

  • Lead and support annual productivity and commission modeling, identifying areas of risk and opportunities to enhance business models.

  • Lead the implementation and testing of new finance systems, enhancements, and tools such as AI/Co-Pilot, ensuring seamless integration and adoption.

  • Support change management initiatives, driving innovation and continuous improvement across the FP&A function.

  • Recruit, interview, and assess talent to build a highly effective team; mentor and develop analysts to drive cutting-edge analytics.

  • Manage 2-3 associates on a day-to-day basis, promoting teamwork and individual development.

  • Independently solve complex problems under tight timelines, utilizing expert-level data management to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.

  • Confidently present findings and recommendations in visually compelling formats for executive audiences.

What You’ll Need:

  • Master’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Statistics, Analytics, or a related area required; 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • Advanced certification in Business, Finance, or Accounting (e.g., CPA, CFA, CMA) preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading, managing, and/or mentoring a team of associates in a finance function.

  • Proven experience managing annual budgets and revenues exceeding $100 million+.

  • Working knowledge of business operations, preferably within conferences, events, or related industries.

  • Highly skilled in Python and SQL with demonstrated experience in predictive/prescriptive modelling.

  • Mastery of Power BI, including both front-end and back-end development.

  • Experience with Databricks or cloud-based platforms preferred.

  • Highly skilled in data analytics, project management, and executive presentations.

  • Independent thinker and problem solver, adept at communicating complex data-driven insights to senior management.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, prioritization, critical thinking, influencing, and change management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to summarize and present meaningful financial data to leadership.

  • Ability to create an inspiring team environment with open communication, continuous encouragement, and clear team goals.

  • Strong time management skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines with accurate results, even in high-pressure situations.

  • Experience with financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, or TM1 preferred.
