Job Description:

The Microchip CAD team in Burnaby is looking for an experienced designer with expertise in designing semiconductors utilizing artificial intelligence. Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Developing a generative infrastructure including agentic coding systems, chat agents, and company-wide training

  • Work directly with BU’s to evangelize a consistent generative AI methodology to increase design and verification productivity

  • Collaborate with leading EDA vendors to determine optimal methods for interfacing MCHP infrastructure with their internal databases and AI systems.

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in AI and semiconductor design automation.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.

  • More than 10 years of industry experience in semiconductor design and automation.

  • Deep knowledge of semiconductor design flows, from RTL to GDSII.

  • Extensive experience with generative and agentic AI applications and frameworks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits of working at Microchip

The annual base salary range for this position is $185,000 - $275,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
