Job Description:
The Microchip CAD team in Burnaby is looking for an experienced designer with expertise in designing semiconductors utilizing artificial intelligence. Roles and responsibilities include:
Developing a generative infrastructure including agentic coding systems, chat agents, and company-wide training
Work directly with BU’s to evangelize a consistent generative AI methodology to increase design and verification productivity
Collaborate with leading EDA vendors to determine optimal methods for interfacing MCHP infrastructure with their internal databases and AI systems.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in AI and semiconductor design automation.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
More than 10 years of industry experience in semiconductor design and automation.
Deep knowledge of semiconductor design flows, from RTL to GDSII.
Extensive experience with generative and agentic AI applications and frameworks.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The annual base salary range for this position is $185,000 - $275,000.**Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
