Associate Events Specialist – Germany (Berlin)  

Berlin is the preferred location, hybrid working from our local solution centre.  

Travel: up to 30% required  

 

The Role

As an Associate Events Specialist here at Illumina in Germany, you will play a key role in shaping how our brand shows up across regional markets. You’ll own the planning, delivery, and optimisation of both face‑to‑face and virtual events, ensuring every touchpoint aligns with our global brand standards. Collaborating closely with marketing teams, sales stakeholders, digital specialists, and our internal creative lab, you’ll bring Illumina’s mission and value proposition to life through impactful event experiences. This is a highly visible role where strong coordination, creativity, and cross‑functional partnership come together to influence how we engage our communities.

You are a skilled organiser with experience delivering high‑quality events and managing varied priorities in a fast‑paced environment. With a background in marketing, communications, or a related field—or equivalent hands‑on experience - you bring excellent written and verbal communication, keen attention to detail, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. 

You thrive when managing multiple workstreams, from content localisation to vendor management, and you bring a strong understanding of best practices in event strategy and execution. Your ability to gather, track, and interpret event data helps refine planning and demonstrate impact. The role will require travel up to 30%, which you welcome as part of creating meaningful experiences for our audiences. 

 

Key Responsibilities  

Event Planning & Execution 

  • Plan, manage, and execute regional events aligned with Illumina’s strategic priorities 

  • Deliver all aspects of tradeshows and Illumina‑hosted events (face‑to‑face and virtual), covering pre‑event preparation, onsite delivery, and post‑event follow‑up 

  • Localise event content while ensuring alignment with global brand guidance 

Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Partner with Digital Specialists to develop and coordinate digital event assets 

  • Provide expertise to sales teams and marketing stakeholders on event strategy, execution best practices, and available tools 

  • Work closely with the internal creative lab, regional programme managers, and sub‑regional marketing partners to align on content and messaging 

Vendor & Logistic Management 

  • Manage event vendors and ensure compliance with governance and vendor‑management guidelines 

  • Coordinate logistics for external presenters, partners, and Illumina staff 

  • Oversee all procurement, budgeting, and invoicing associated with events 

Performance Tracking & Reporting 

  • Capture relevant event data in appropriate systems 

  • Track and upload lead data, reporting on performance and event outcomes 

  • Analyse events to inform continuous improvement
