What is the opportunity?
As Associate, Enterprise Risk Policy (ERP), you will be part of the team that champions the enterprise-wide implementation of the RBC Enterprise Policy on Policy Document Management (RP5) and contribute to fostering a culture of policy awareness and adherence across RBC.
Specifically, you will be part of ERP’s Global Centre of Policy Governance and share in the team’s responsibility to implement the requirements of RP5 and provide 2LOD policy document oversight and challenge across the organization.
What will you do?
Assist in managing and updating RP5 Guidance documents (for best practices), document Templates, and other RP5 job aids.
Assist in the implementation of an enterprise-wide RP5 adherence monitoring program (including sample-based quality assurance and thematic reviews).
Assist in the review of all business and functional unit requests for exception to RP5, provide recommendations for approval/decline, and manage the list of approved exceptions.
Monitor overdue policy documents across enterprise and escalate deteriorating trends as appropriate.
Oversee the ERP generic e-mail box by answering questions or referring to the appropriate contact.
Assist in managing enterprise GRM’s Policy Management Authorities (PMA) document and review it on a regular and timely basis.
Conduct quality assurance checks on Policy Documents owned by GRM prior to publication.
Provide additional administrative support through publishing and facilitation of the translation of Policy Documents owned by GRM.
Help drive and deliver on Policy Document governance initiatives to support senior management priorities.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-Haves:
University degree
3+ years of experience in financial services or experience in policy management/governance in any industry
Intellectual curiosity, global and strategic mindset with ability to think conceptually and creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and/or find solutions to complex problems
Proven ability to drive results, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities in an evolving environment
Exceptional people skills: ability to collaborate effectively, draw out diverse views, and influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups to achieve greater results
Ability to work independently and in an organized manner
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Very strong problem-solving skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Power Point
Nice-to-Haves:
5+ years of experience in policy management/governance and/or related governance function
Very good understanding of policy management requirements and challenges at RBC, including regulatory expectations, and/or best practices across industries
Knowledge of / experience in policy management tools
Strong presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior management and/or governance forums
Familiarity with strategic technologies such as AI, machine learning, and data analytics
