Job Description: Test Systems Engineer (TSE) is responsible for sustaining, optimizing, and supporting NI STS ATE (Automated Test Equipment) or Testers to ensure stable, reliable, and high-availability tester operations in production. The role supports tester configuration, conversion, upgrades, calibration, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet production capacity and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Sustaining & Technical Support

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for NI STS testers.
  • Troubleshoot system hardware, software, RF, and timing-related issues.
  • Support complex failure analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Drive permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

2. Tester Configuration & Conversion

  • Lead tester configuration changes for new device requirements.
  • Support platform conversion, upgrade, and reallocation activities.
  • Ensure system readiness prior to production release (bring-up, validation, GR&R support)

3. Calibration & Compliance

  • Ensure calibration compliance of NI STS instruments and subsystems.
  • Support timing calibration, RF validation, and system verification activities.
  • Maintain proper documentation and measurement control requirements.

4. Production Support & Capacity Management

  • Minimize downtime and improve tester availability.
  • Support high-priority line-down escalations.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Product Engineering, and Development sites.

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Drive cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives.
  • Improve preventive maintenance effectiveness.
  • Develop technical documentation, checklists, and best practices.
