About the Role

We are looking for an adventurous, passionate and result driven CMF engineer/designer with world class sensibility for Color, Material, and Finishes. The right candidate should inspire new ideas and has the ability to bring own vision to reality. You will take a lead role with hands-on responsibilities working in a very fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Harman International is the worldwide leader in the designing high-quality, high fidelity audio and electronic products for automotive, consumer and professional use.  Harman Design Center is the heart of our consumer electronics development. What You Will Do

  • Play an active role in our Engineering as well as Design team and be part of an eclectic group of great international environment
  • Move fast, make critical decisions, take ownership as well as continually push for improvements
  • Be involved in all phases of the design process for CMF, from concept, over strategic, to tactical, and implementation
  • Evaluate costs and MP possibilities
  • Work very closely with ME, Tooling, ID and BU team to ensure that all color, material and finish samples are approved per schedule and SOP on time
  • Spot lifestyle tendencies and turn them into new concepts along with multidisciplinary  teams
  • Lead innovative concepts with the use of materials as well as explore special edition opportunities across different brands
  • Establish and maintain relationship with our suppliers. Develop ODM’s CMF capability to support Harman business
  • Evolve the brand with new relevant CMF to keep the design language up to date
  • Manage the CMF library; continually keep the samples up to date
  • Lead projects and deliver great presentations
  • Create special edition CMF proposals to support marketing and partnership projects
  • Work independently by creating initiative and new business opportunities
  • Explore special edition opportunities for all product categories

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor degree in industrial design or similar field
  • 3 years of experience in CMF design with the clear record of material innovation and implementation on the consumer products
  • Awesome skills in creating renderings by using Keyshot or similar software
  • Solid knowledge in 3D software’s such as Rhino, Solidworks or PTC Creo as well as Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator.
  • Deep interest in good music, street culture, sport, music and fashion.
  • An excellent sense of humor.
  • Very good knowledge in English, other languages are a plus.
