Why This Role Matters

 

Washington Post Live is looking for an Associate Editorial Producer to provide editorial, operational, social media and video support for events. From initial concept to final production, this position also involves editorial support of a variety of events, handling production deliverables, facilitating cross-department collaboration, assisting with social media output and fostering efficient workflows. The Associate Editorial Producer also supports the research and ideation process, for on-stage conversations, off-stage activations and video projects

How You'll Support the Mission

  • Coordinate across editorial, production, design and marketing teams
  • Assist with researching and producing content of segments 
  • Manage editorial event needs like travel arrangements, connection tests, copy editing in line with Post style, graphics and other duties 
  • Work as bridge between editorial and marketing teams on video needs and audience strategy 
  • Edit short-form news video clips to facilitate audience growth and discovery 
  • Serve as the team’s champion for how to problem solve with AI 

Skills and Experience You Bring

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a professional newsroom
  • Strong research, writing and production skills
  • Experience editing clips, writing copy for digital platforms and managing social media accounts 
  • Knowledge and passion for live events and issues shaping the future 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and on extended schedules 
  • Rigorous attention to detail and deadlines
  • Interest in live events, fresh ways of creating and sharing content and emerging technologies

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.

The salary range for this position is:

$85,100 - $127,700 Annual

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
