The Lilly Employer Organization represents a critical priority for Lilly USA — treating employers as first-class customers alongside payers and providers. This newly formed business unit centralizes and scales Lilly’s direct-to-employer (DTE) access models, benefit design innovation, and employer-focused engagement, particularly for obesity and cardiometabolic medications.
As the Employer Technical Product Manager, you will drive the execution and delivery of data and technology capabilities that power this transformation. You’ll work at the intersection of employer data analytics, benefit administration, partner integrations, and platform development to build innovative solutions that enable Lilly’s employer engagement strategy across the full lifecycle — from coverage acquisition through evidence generation and long-term retention.
As part of the Lilly Value & Access (LVA) team within Tech@Lilly USA, you’ll get to be part of incredible opportunities across the full employer engagement lifecycle — from identifying and qualifying employer prospects, to driving utilization and coverage adoption, generating real-world evidence of value, and building lasting employer relationships. This role requires the ability to operate in ambiguity, drive clarity in undefined spaces, and translate complex business needs into scalable technology solutions that move the organization toward modern, data-driven employer engagement.
What You Will Do:
Product Management & Strategy
- Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for employer-facing technology capabilities, ensuring alignment with Lilly USA’s Employer priority and the broader LVA portfolio.
- Translate strategic business priorities into actionable product roadmaps and deliver on them through disciplined execution — on time and with measurable outcomes.
- Own the full feature lifecycle from requirements definition through deployment, managing portfolio epics, features, spikes, risks, and dependencies.
- Lead PI planning and solution-level syncs in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.
- Define KPIs and ensure delivery of meaningful, measurable value across the Employer and LVA organizations.
- Develop and maintain strategic product roadmaps that balance transformational innovation with operational excellence.
Execution & Delivery Excellence
- Partner with the Lilly Value and Access organization to deeply understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions that deliver rich organizational value.
- Define high-level solution architecture in collaboration with Tech@Lilly architects to ensure scalability, security, and integration with existing Lilly systems.
- Partner with engineering teams to design and implement ETL pipelines, data integrations, and platform capabilities across multiple sources and partner systems.
- Lead cross-functional teams — spanning business, IT, and external partners — to deliver integrated technology solutions.
- Operate effectively in ambiguous, “gray space” environments, driving clarity as requirements emerge and evolve.
- Ensure delivery adheres to appropriate AI, quality, and compliance requirements and standards, including healthcare regulations (HIPAA, data privacy).
AI Mindset & Next-Generation Analytics
- Champion a forward-looking technology vision that leverages AI, automation, and modern platform capabilities to accelerate employer engagement outcomes.
- Explore and integrate AI/ML capabilities to enhance employer analytics, predictive modeling, benefit optimization, and decision support.
- Be an active, hands-on contributor to development efforts, particularly as it relates to leveraging Generative AI for innovative solutions.
- Partner with data science teams to guide model development, validation, and optimization for employer-focused use cases.
- Evaluate and advocate for emerging technologies — including generative AI — that surface insights proactively and reduce dependency on manual processes.
- Stay current on industry trends in employer engagement, value-based care, AI, and healthcare technology, bringing outside-in perspective to the roadmap.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the strategic liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring consistent alignment on priorities, resource use, and unified delivery.
- Communicate program progress, risks, and strategic insights to senior leaders through data-backed storytelling and compelling visualization.
- Influence strategy and drive business impact through exceptional communication with leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Partner with AI Committees, Digital Core, Global Data, Enterprise Architecture, and external vendors to align strategies and accelerate technology adoption.
Your Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, solution architecture, or IT delivery with a proven track record of taking complex products from vision through launch and impact.
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure), including working knowledge of ETL processes, database technologies (SQL, Redshift, Databricks), and modern data lake architectures.
- Experience leveraging AI and machine learning technologies, including Generative AI, to support technology solutions, enhance analytics, or drive business insights.
- Experience with product management in an Agile environment (Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban) and collaboration tools such as Jira, Figma, or Aha!.
What You Should Bring:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, particularly supporting commercial organizations with data and technology solutions.
- Understanding of Value and Access, Market Access, or employer/payer engagement concepts.
- Experience with commercial data products (e.g., Customer, Product, Claims data) and healthcare data standards.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and comfort working alongside engineering teams in data lake or Databricks-based architectures.
- Background in healthcare economics, outcomes research, or value-based care analytics.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and coordinating resources across internal and external teams.
- Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to realization.
- Proven ability to work effectively with senior business leaders and drive strategic initiatives.
- Superb communication, collaboration, and influencing skills across business and technical audiences.
