As a key leader in our Externalisation Digital & Technology team, you will focus on delivering the new Supply Chain collaboration Platform. This role is pivotal in shaping the connected global supply chain aspects of the GSK Smart Manufacturing vision.

Position Summary

This Associate Director-level role owns the technology product supporting collaboration with external manufacturing partners. You will work closely with internal supply chain, quality, IT engineering teams and external suppliers to deliver secure, compliant, and user-friendly solutions. You will convert user requirements into well-defined product outcomes and deliver quantifiable results that support GSK’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Product Delivery & Service Management: Take full accountability for product delivery capacity, capability, and service management processes, including direct or indirect management of technical teams.
  • Backlog Management: Ensure all requested work aligns with agreed demand types and is entered and prioritised in the product backlog.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor and manage the technical team’s capacity to fulfil the highest priority activities.
  • Major Incident Coordination: Act as the escalation point and coordinator for resolving major outages or disruptions related to the product.
  • Supplier & Vendor Liaison: Work closely with strategic suppliers, application vendors, and business partners to ensure support services and licensing are suitable and maintained.
  • Cost Optimisation: Eliminate unnecessary support and maintenance costs by decommissioning or consolidating assets as approved.
  • Product Maintenance & Upgrades: Collaborate with Product Directors/Managers to keep products current, ensuring upgrades and component currency are visible and prioritised in the backlog.
  • Funding & Resource Management: Secure appropriate funding and supplement technical resources as needed to support product delivery changes.
  • Service Operations Performance: Serve as the main point of contact for service operations performance, ensuring strategic partners deliver on agreed KPIs/SLAs
  • Compliance & Standard Processes: Ensure adherence to GSK Service Management Standard Processes, embedding standard ways of working in line with Tech Quality Risk and Compliance policies.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in engineering, computer science, life sciences or a related field with overall 16+ years of experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in product ownership, product management, or a closely related role within supply chain or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with cross-functional technology teams and external vendors, especially in supply chain collaboration.
  • Proven track record of managing product backlogs and delivering software using agile methodologies.
  • Understanding of integrations, APIs, and data exchange between enterprise and supplier systems.
  • Experience working in regulated environments with awareness of compliance needs for quality and manufacturing.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or supplier collaboration platforms within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences (Blue Yonder OneNetwork, e2Open, SAP business network and Tracelink MINT).
  • Knowledge of laboratory, manufacturing, or quality systems integration (e.g., ERP, MES, LIMS).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD practices, and modern engineering toolchains.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent delivery tooling.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience across global, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Background in user research, design thinking, or driving adoption and change management.
