Organization Overview:
In Raleigh - Durham, North Carolina, Research Triangle Park (RTP) plant is a cutting-edge pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. This plant is one of Lilly’s most technically advanced manufacturing sites. The Supply Chain function is highly integrated, minimizing inventory holding, utilizing reusable/returnable containers and pallets in closed loop system design.
Responsibilities:
This position provides planning and purchasing activities for all operations at the site (parenteral, device assembly, and packaging).
The Associate Director for Supply Chain Planning is responsible for the management of daily operations which includes:
Leadership of Planning, Purchasing, and Master Data team by having understanding of planning process and systems.
The coordination of production operations by ensuring materials are available.
Partner with Warehouse and Intralogistics operations to ensure robust inventory management process.
This position is positioned as a connection between site operational teams and Global Supply Chain network planning teams and is responsible for leading and driving continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes.
The role will:
Be Responsible for leading the Planning, Purchasing, and Master Data team:
Provide leadership and be responsible for acting on behalf Supply Chain function to integrate with the cross functional team to gain an understanding of site operations and predict or respond to potential issues and identify improvement opportunities that arise around production planning and scheduling.
Govern master data (materials, BOMs, Recipes, Resources) throughout the site.
Maintain metrics to measure production performance against Business Plan and Network Plan including the quarterly and yearly volume targets while meeting Cycle Time performance.
Ensure appropriate staffing for planning related support across all shifts.
Follow and execute policies and procedures impacting planning activities.
Lead monthly S&OP meeting for the site:
Establish monthly planning calendar for the site in alignment with Global Supply Chain planning calendar to ensure consistency in reporting of production and supply plan to meet network plan.
Devise plans to balance the demands of the marketplace with resources and capacity over 24-month horizon across the SC.
Measure and publish performance vs. plan for each manufacturing operation area.
Partner with each operational area/work-force center to review and revise capacity model by leading the discussion around key assumptions, risk, and opportunities.
Provide a challenging and rewarding environment for the team through:
Establishing and consistently communicating clear performance expectations.
Providing direct, timely and appropriate performance feedback.
Coaching in the creation of career objectives and the development plans.
Establishing ownership and accountability through involving employees in the implementation and/or improvement of departmental processes and measurements.
Standardization of processes to facilitate performance repeatability, sustainability, and maximum use of departmental resources through cross-training.
Maintaining current documentation for primary departmental processes (i.e., planning and purchasing process, master data, etc.).
Establish and promote relevant technical skills in the department through:
Ensuring employees obtain capabilities to operate in a self-sufficient manner in the use of the primary business applications (i.e., SAP / EWM).
Establishing the expectations for and coaching employees in the use of a data-driven and analytical approach to problem solving through the use of available application software (i.e., Power BI, AI tools, etc.).
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of previous Supply Chain planning required.
GMP experience preferred.
Previous leadership experience supervising direct reports.
Experience with ERP and Planning systems.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
SAP & EWM experience.
Leadership skills and confidence to drive for improvement.
Ability to communicate and influence effectively across functional groups.
Strong interpersonal skills with customer service mindset.
Strategic thinking and capability.
Capability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
Understanding of GMP processes.
Solid understanding of quality and corporate policies.
Solid understanding of the importance of and basic requirements of regulatory agencies such as the FDA, OSHA, and EPA.

Enthusiastic, positive attitude, flexible and willing to work overtime.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$127,500 - $204,600Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
