Join our Risk & Valuation service team to help financial institutions manage credit risk through innovative scoring solutions. You'll work with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored credit risk management tools and strategies.

What You'll Do

  • Consult with clients to identify credit risk management needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Support business development by providing technical expertise and analytical insights
  • Collaborate across teams including product development, sales, and client support to drive business growth
  • Leverage S&P Global Ratings' methodologies to help clients with internal ratings, risk assessment, and loan pricing

We provide Credit Assessment Scorecards—tools that help credit professionals quantify and manage risk. Our clients use these scorecards for:

  • Assigning internal credit ratings
  • Calculating risk-weighted assets
  • Pricing loans
  • Loan loss provisioning

About the Team

You'll work in a global, collaborative environment with product development, sales, and client support teams to grow S&P Global Market Intelligence's business in the Asia-Pacific region.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of Credit Assessment Scorecards to financial institution clients, including conducting application workshops and preparing supporting case studies for training and presales activities

• Execute Assessment of Credit (AoC) projects by analyzing obligor information, running scorecards, and delivering comprehensive AoC reports to clients

• Collaborate with global development teams on updating and maintaining scorecards to reflect methodology changes, financial profiles, and industry trends while communicating performance statistics to existing clients

• Drive presales initiatives by meeting with potential clients to assess their credit risk management requirements and propose tailored solutions in partnership with the sales team

• Provide ongoing technical and analytical support to clients for proper application of scorecards, including periodic methodology Q&As and business process optimization

• Support business development initiatives across low default asset classes including specialized lending, fund financing, financial institutions, large corporates, and sovereigns

Basic Required Qualifications

• Post-graduate degree (Master's level) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field

• Minimum 10+ years of direct experience in one of the following areas: credit analysis or lending at major financial institutions, internal rating framework operations, credit risk management consulting, or credit assessment model product management

• Proven experience in lending to or analyzing credits of low default asset classes such as specialized lending (project finance, object finance, real estate finance), financial institutions, large corporates, or sovereigns

• Fluent Japanese language skills and business-level English proficiency for both oral and written communication

• Strong analytical capabilities with intermediate knowledge of accounting principles and probability/statistics

• Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy in deliverables

• Demonstrated commitment to developing deep credit expertise across diverse asset classes including specialized lending, fund financing, financial institutions, large corporates, SMEs, LBOs, and sovereigns

• Strong dedication to work quality and client excellence, with a proven track record of delivering accurate, consistent, and complete work while maintaining a client-centric approach and preference for client-facing responsibilities

• Preference for a collaborative, dynamic, and globally-minded work environment where teamwork is valued, cultural diversity is embraced, and there is autonomy over time management to support work-life balance
