Step into a pivotal role as an Associate Director, Resource Management Modelling Specialist, driving strategic workforce planning and resource optimization within a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

You’ll collaborate with senior leaders and influence decision-making across Research and Development (R&D), Finance, IT, and Portfolio Project Management (PPM); delivering innovative analytics and actionable insights that shape portfolio direction and accelerate clinical operations.

Leverage your expertise to support business-critical budget cycles, governance forums, and strategic initiatives, including in-licensing and acquisitions.

Champion data-driven capacity allocation and process improvement, empowering Bristol Myers Squibb to execute its pipeline with speed, excellence, and impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Resource Planning & Forecasting
    • Deliver accurate resource forecasts for reporting and budgeting
    • Integrate resource risks into governance and decision-making.
    • Manage and improve planning tools and models.
  • Analytics & Reporting
    • Build dashboards and reports for demand, capacity, and productivity.
    • Apply advanced analytics and innovative approaches to workforce planning.
    • Support business transformation through automation and AI.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build strong relationships with R&D leaders and business partners.
    • Collaborate with IT to ensure systems (Planisware, Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI) meet modeling needs.
    • Engage stakeholders to address priority resource and capacity needs.
  • Process Optimization & Best Practices
    • Streamline processes connecting study planning, feasibility, and operational risks to resource forecasts.
    • Develop and share best practices for FTE modeling, forecasting, and time tracking.
    • Continuously monitor and implement industry innovations.
  • Strategic Support
    • Support senior leaders in assessing impacts of in-licensing, acquisitions, divestitures, and capacity allocation.
    • Translate strategy into actionable plans and manage execution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree, required
    • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, PhD) in life sciences or a quantitative field, preferred
  • Industry Experience
    • Minimum 5 years in life sciences or biopharma
    • Direct experience in resource and capacity management within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
    • Experience working with Clinical Operations is a plus.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills
    • Expertise in resource modeling, forecasting, headcount management, and time tracking.
    • Proficiency with Planisware, Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI, and MS Project; experience with AI and automation is a plus.
    • Solid understanding of project, portfolio, resource, cost, and budget management.
    • Experience designing business processes, measuring performance, and driving cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic & Operational Skills
    • Demonstrated ability to assess business-critical needs, develop strategy, translate strategy into operating models, and manage program execution.
    • Capable of structuring complex or ambiguous problems and applying creative, pragmatic solutions.
    • Understanding of agile development methodologies and business intelligence solution design, development, testing, and lifecycle management.
  • Communication & Leadership
    • Proven ability to build relationships, influence, and drive organizational engagement.
    • Experience engaging senior leaders and supporting governance, budget cycles, and strategic partnerships.
  • Other
    • Direct experience with systems used to manage resource demand and supply.
    • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in resource management practices.
