Associate Director – Quality Compliance

Role Summary

The Associate Director Quality Compliance supports strategic and operational responsibilities for driving changes across the Global Quality Compliance (GQC) organization and beyond in the space of Quality Management Maturity and Continuous Improvement (CI). This role integrates Lean, Six Sigma, and project management methodologies to elevate quality performance, embed a culture of continuous improvement, and deliver measurable impact across the organization.

As a connector across global functions, this leader partners with cross-functional teams, manages governance for process improvements and initiatives, and supports the business planning process including budgeting and headcount activities.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Utilize Lean tools and approaches to facilitate creation of strategic roadmap for Global Quality Compliance as aligned with the overall Quality strategy.

  • Support execution of the strategic roadmap for Global Quality Compliance.

  • Drive cultural change and employee engagement to meet evolving Quality expectations.

Quality Culture and Maturity Responsibilities

  • Champion a Quality-always mindset across all levels of the organization, ensuring decisions and behaviors align with compliance and patient safety principles.

  • Embed Quality Culture principles into operational processes, training programs, and leadership behaviors.

  • Implement Quality Culture maturity tools to measure progress and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Act as a change agent to reinforce quality-focused and risk-based decision-making, transparency, and accountability.

  • Communicate the importance of Quality Culture through storytelling, campaigns, and recognition programs.

Operational Excellence & Deployment

  • Act as the Lean methodology expert and facilitate deployment of applicable Ways of Working in the Global Quality Compliance organization.

  • Facilitate workshops and problem-solving sessions.

Innovation & Digital Enablement

  • Identify and track quality digital innovations to improve performance and compliance.

  • Facilitate rapid adoption of compliant approaches to support Quality innovations.

  • Oversee knowledge management programs and ensure effective data collection, analysis, and decision-making.

Capability Building & Coaching

  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to build critical thinking, behavioral competencies, and technical skills.

Governance & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead quality governance processes and prepare materials for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Monitor quality performance indicators and report outcomes to drive continuous improvement.

Additional Duties

  • Additional duties as assigned to support quality and compliance.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Continuous Improvement.

  • Strong understanding of performance metrics.

  • Familiarity with digital tools (e.g., iObeya).

  • Basic data science skills (e.g., data staging, data management, etc.) to enable collaboration with technical teams and improve analytics-driven decision-making.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional, global transformation initiatives.

  • High emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and learning agility.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred degree in Science, Engineering, Pharmacy

  • 10+ years of experience working in a regulated industry

Additional Experience

  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Black Belt, or equivalent Lean Coach/Practitioner Certification.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$115,500 - $169,400

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
