The Tactical Airborne Communications (TACAIR) team is seeking a highly experienced and highly motivated Value Stream Leader (VSL) to lead the Next Generation Radio Product Line Solution.   This leader will drive the capture of a highest tier “must win” pursuit. This position is instrumental in building the pursuit’s strategic intent / framework, ensuring disciplined strategic execution, and making continual progress to increase win probability. Central to this role is leading customer interactions, driving a unified strategy across a team of subject matter experts, and ensuring alignment with executive leadership. Additionally, the individual in this role will manage strategic internal investment projects focused on the Next Generation Radio.  This highly demanding role requires proactive leadership and the development of key relationships with the engineering, finance, business development, strategy and other Collins SBU functions. 

Qualified candidates are skillful communicators across functional areas, decisive problem solvers across an array of pursuit and program issues, and exhibit the temperament to successfully resolve conflict. These communication and decision-making skills will be used to understand issues facing pursuit and program teams and distill them into innovative solutions to be applied across the program lifecycle. The successful candidate will:

What You Will Do

  • Accountable for the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the value stream; serves as the face of the organization to product clients and customers

  • Accountable for success of the capture team and for driving the team to a win

  • Leads the lifecycle management and competitive capability development for product line, including development of growth strategies for sustainable competitive differentiation

  • Interfaces with multiple business units, internal and external customers, and supports pursuit and capture of new customers

  • Demonstrate ability to influence requirements and bridge gaps to improve win percentages both domestically and internationally

  • Foster creative thought and innovation; think of things that no one else considers

  • Must have experience in the application of all aspects of program management execution including significant Earned Value Management experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage program risks which may materially impact business area profitability/growth or customer satisfaction

  • Accountable for performance of the assigned value stream

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate to the extended team, Collins leadership, and key customers

  • Maximize impact over projects with high levels of visibility and potential for significant growth and impact to the business area

  • Develops, plans, directs, and monitors discretionary and customer funded budgets through Strategic and Financial Planning (SFP) responsibility. Expected to provide and support inputs to the strategic plan for R&D and other discretionary funding

  • Anticipated travel of 20% is expected of this role

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
