The primary purpose of this role is to assist in securing market access via demonstrating the value of Lilly products throughout the reimbursement life cycle. The Associate Director – PRA will work with the different functions across sales, marketing, access, Government affairs, medical to identify top risks and opportunities for the geography. He/she will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic plan for access, developing best-in class product and pricing submissions and/or re-submissions to national/ regional bodies and private/local/ hospital payers/insurers. The Associate Director – PRA owns the value proposition/Payer Value message of Lilly products to payers at all levels, throughout the product lifecycle. He/she will act as point of contact between META and IBU. He/she will be responsible to develop all business cases from META and secure approvals from IBU. He/she will spend 60% of time on Gulf and 40% on META.
Key Responsibilities:
Payer Marketing
Understand Global Brand Payer Strategies for prioritized products for respective business unit and incorporate into local strategy/deliverables; provide local payer insights back into the product/Payer strategies through involvement in cross-functional brand teams and the brand planning process.
Understand, and communicate internally, payer customer needs and insights for customers at national/regional/hospital level (voice of the customer).
Tailor and test evidence-based value messages using payer messaging processes and based on payer need, benefit and a reason to believe that meets their criteria for credibility and business relevance.
Address local payer needs by drawing on / supporting the selection of the most appropriate tools and information from the Toolkit and contributing new tools and Best Practices to the Toolkit for the benefit of other affiliates.
Develop and support pricing / reimbursement business strategies based on modeling, including launch and post-launch Next Generation PRA and alternative access programs (AAP’s) as well as product development strategies (indication, dosage, potential payer prioritization, sequence launching, etc…).
Submissions:
Coordinate cross functional teams to develop best in industry formulary submissions to national / regional drug lists and private / local / hospital insurers for therapeutic areas of responsibility.
Coordinate cross functional teams to carry out prelaunch activities, monitor the progress of submissions and support the resubmission process.
Assist affiliates in obtaining needed data / information from other affiliates and / or IBU (PRA & Pricing, New Products Planning, Business Units Marketing, etc…).
Share successes and failures with other affiliates.
Cross-functional Integration:
Identify and evaluate policy developments relevant to PRA and / or a product’s access.
Liaise with and support corporate or affiliate lobbying efforts and integrated campaigns on PRA issues.
Work very closely with KAM to support all institutional access efforts.
Integration with Payer field force (KAMs):
“PRA is for KAM what Marketing is for Sales”.
Incorporation of Strategic Account Management principles into payer resources and tools; ensure required resources are complete, compliant and available.
Proactively identify and develop formulary related tools to assist representatives in securing access for all Lilly products.
Develop information packages to support continued and expanded listing of current products
Assist field-based personnel with analysis of customer needs and suggest negotiation strategies.
Develop the most effective contracting options / economic solutions from among those solutions currently approved, in order to establish clinical value and remove access/reimbursement barriers with a specific payer while optimizing economic value of the product for Lilly.
META PRA support:
Responsible for establishing and maintaining the right governance framework at the META level to ensure effective decision-making and compliance across all PRA activities.
Proactively share learnings, best practices, and outcomes with META affiliates and relevant stakeholders to foster continuous improvement and knowledge transfer.
Coordinate closely with IBU to ensure seamless collaboration, timely information exchange, and alignment on strategic priorities.
Ensure clear META alignment and unified positions on key access and reimbursement topics, representing META’s interests in cross-regional discussions and negotiations.
Develop robust business cases within META, and present these cases to IBU for approval and support.
Equip META teams with a clear, actionable PRA strategy for each brand, tailored to local payer needs and market dynamics, and ensure consistent execution across the region.

General:
A medical or pharmacist background would be desirable with evidence of business acumen, preferably with MBA.
Excellent communication as well as prioritization skills with attention to detail.
Previous PRA and access/sales/marketing management experience required.
High level of motivation and a strong desire to find creative solutions to challenging situations.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Medical / Marketing / KAM / Corporate Affairs at the affiliate level and also with Global resources.
Strong learning agility.
PRA:
Experience and market knowledge of public and/or private payer customer segments.
Understanding of payer market.
Ability to systematically review clinical/scientific literature.
