Reporting to the Louisiana Sea Grant Executive Director, the Associate Director is a senior leader who can manage 40% of the administrative duties for LSG. This includes representing the Executive Director at functions, meetings, and events as requested, participating in professional development, supervising staff at LSG as needed, serving as Co-PI on grants as determined by the Executive Director, and having the primary responsibility of LSG’s reporting and evaluation.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of an evaluation plan that assesses the productivity of LSG activities against the strategic plan, including improvement plans if needed. Collects, organizes, and documents information and data to stimulate research productivity and assess sponsored research and extension activities. Communicates with LSG's researchers and extension staff members to provide mid-year and annual outcome assessments to the National Sea Grant Office (NSGO), LSU, and state agencies. Ensures RPPRs are submitted 2x annually for all NOAA awards in eRA. Develops data analytics to show the impact of Louisiana Sea Grant’s activities on NSGO, LSU, and with stakeholders. Works with the Research and Communication departments to collect and disseminate information. This includes assisting on the development and implementation of LSG’s strategic plan and federal site reviews within the four-year cycles. (35%)
Serves as the LSG alternate for the national Sea Grant association, including biennial meeting, listservs, committees, and calls. This includes serving as the proxy director as needed when the Louisiana Sea Grant director cannot attend director-only confidential meetings. (20%)
Oversees professional development of staff to help meet LSG’s strategic plan and assists with the supervision and review of staff, serving as primary supervisor if the executive director is unavailable. Responsible for leading the award nomination committee for LSG staff. Provide facilitation and agenda design assistance to help fulfill LSG’s mission and strategic plan. (20%)
Serve as the primary contact with LSU Foundation for Sea Grant’s donor relations, including strategic planning for Sea Grant’s Foundation efforts. Additionally, oversees the Louisiana Sea Grant Advisory Council coordination, including nominations and onboarding of new members. (10%)
Serve as a senior leader for LSG with all other universities and colleges across Louisiana, building Louisiana Sea Grant’s collaborations and partnerships with the other universities across research, education, and extension. (10%)
Perform own area of research within Louisiana Sea Grant’s strategic plan, including seeking grants and funding opportunities and partnerships. Other duties as assigned. (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D or other terminal degree and 15 years of experience.
Experience with Sea Grant, reporting for grants and to federal agencies, facilitation, and project management
