As the Associate Director of Consumer Insights, you will play a critical role in shaping our marketing strategies and patient experience efforts. You will lead the development and execution of a robust consumer insights strategy that informs critical decisions across various functions. You will serve as a strategic partner to cross-functional teams—translating complex data into actionable insights that shape how we engage with patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Insight Generation:

Extract and synthesize actionable insights from large consumer datasets (e.g., 1st Party Websites, 3rd Party Claims Data, SDoH Consumer Data) to identify key consumer behaviors, trends, and opportunities. Provide strategic recommendations to optimize media and marketing strategies.

Data Analysis:

Conduct comprehensive analysis of consumer data to uncover patterns and trends that drive business decisions. Integrate data from disparate sources, analyze findings, and develop compelling narratives that clearly communicate insights.

Media Strategy Support:

Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize marketing and media strategies. Use insights to influence content, channel, and audience targeting decisions.

Reporting Ecosystem Development:

Lead the development and maturation of comprehensive reporting ecosystems, with a strong focus on self-service analytics. Build and scale Power BI/Tableau dashboards that empower stakeholders to independently access and interact with data, ensuring actionable insights are easily accessible across teams. From initial setup to full-scale deployment, manage processes and systems to ensure timely, accurate, and actionable reporting. Collaborate with teams to optimize data flow and reporting functionality

Clean Room/LiveRamp Expertise:

Leverage experience in working with LiveRamp, data clean room environments, or similar platforms to manage and enhance consumer data analysis. Ensure seamless data integration and privacy-compliant collaboration across multiple data sources.

Communication:

Create and deliver insightful reports and presentations that convey key findings and actionable recommendations. Effectively communicate insights to various stakeholders, including cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Data Governance & Quality:

Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all consumer data, following best practices in data governance and security.

Required Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience in consumer insights or data analytics, with a focus on marketing, business intelligence, or media strategies, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools, particularly Power BI, Tableau, and SQL. Strong experience working with data visualization and reporting tools.

Insight Generation: Experience in extracting actionable insights from consumer data, particularly patient-level data (e.g., 1P, 3P claims, SDoH, SFMC).

Reporting & Presentation: Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex data into clear, concise reports and presentations that are actionable for a wide range of stakeholders

KPI Tracking: Ability to measure and track KPIs, and make data-driven recommendations to improve media and marketing strategies. 

​Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience, or

Master’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience, or

PhD with 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with pharma patient claims data (IQVIA LAAD, Symphony, HealthVerity) and familiarity with platforms such as LiveRamp.
  • Prior experience using consumer insights to inform media and advertising strategies.

The salary range for this position is: $195,670.00 - $253,220.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
