What is the opportunity?

  • The Associate Director, Model Innovation and Implementation will lead the development and enhancement of the market risk and counterparty credit risk assessment, with a sharp focus on market data integration and scenario generation to support regulatory (e.g., CCAR) and internal risk management frameworks. This role bridges advanced quantitative modeling and data modeling with robust IT implementation, ensuring seamless alignment between risk methodologies and enterprise architecture.

What will you do?

  • Design and maintain a Python-based market risk library covering all asset classes (interest rates, equity, credit, FX, commodities), with a focus on scenario generation, stress testing, and P&L attribution.
  • Lead market data integration efforts, ensuring accurate risk factor identification, mapping, and validation for trading portfolios.
  • Collaborate closely with IT partners to define technical specifications, develop test frameworks, and validate production implementations of risk models.
  • Drive innovation in risk measurement methodologies, including research into AI/ML applications (e.g .scenario generation, anomaly detection).
  • Act as a liaison between risk, quant, and technology teams to ensure end-to-end solution delivery, from model prototyping to production deployment.
  • Document and present complex methodologies to senior stakeholders, emphasizing clarity and actionable insights.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in market risk management (e.g., VaR, stress testing, CCAR) with a focus on scenario generation and market data workflows.
  • Expert Python skills for financial modeling, data manipulation (e.g., pandas, NumPy), and integration with risk systems.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s/PhD) in Finance, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven ability to partner with IT teams on specification, testing, and production verification of risk models.
  • Deep understanding of capital markets products and regulatory requirements (e.g., FRTB, CCAR).
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts into business-aligned solutions.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with cloud-based risk platforms or distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Knowledge of market data feeds (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv) and historical data management.
