Position Overview:

Lilly has created a centralized Customer Experience Hub (CEH) by assembling a group of teams, across the organization, that are passionate about understanding and serving customers, and work together as Team Lilly to meet their evolving needs within a complex healthcare ecosystem.

In today’s constantly evolving world, consumers’ media consumption habits are shifting faster than ever before. As such, Lilly has reimagined the Media Center of Excellence, shifting to a centralized team, and focusing on best-in-class media strategy and stewardship to improve business impact. This team is charged with formalizing the build of valuable channel-specific marketing expertise, processes, innovation and knowledge-sharing. Lilly is staffing for an Associate Director, Media Strategy Lead to work in the hub, in partnership with our consumer marketing teams. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Consumer Media, US.

An ideal candidate is an ROI-motivated, omnichannel media expert, with end-to-end knowledge of strategy, execution, and measurement to best partner with cross functional teams at Lilly. They will need to deliver incredible business results through paid media investment to meet company plan goals.

Responsibilities:

Media Planning & Development, Implementation & Measurement: In collaboration with the media agency, lead development of best-in-class consumer media strategies. Participate in annual brand planning process; including development of media objectives, channel strategy, channel mix and measurement plan, while challenging the status quo and constantly driving for greater plan performance. Ensure consistent application of media return on investments, historical performance and consumption insights across touchpoints and channels to improve revenue potential of plans.

Leadership and Influence: Lead and influence decision making cross-functionally, by developing data driven media strategies, which lead to positive customer experiences. Comfortable with discussion/presentation to leadership 2-3 levels up, including CMO’s and other C-suite.

Agency Management: Effectively manage large national media agency relationships. Establish expectations (two-way) for client – agency partnership. Form relationship with agency leads to accomplish customer focused strategy and tactics. Develop action plans as needed based on regular partnership evaluation.

Market Monitoring: Review competitive marketplace data, both via media spend by channel as well as competitive SOM, in collaboration with brand marketing and BU leads to make recommendations for brand implications/actions.

Financial Management: Track and manage budget for all channels including reconciliation. Provide roll-up to brand teams and make recommendations for trade-offs as needed.

Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all consumer marketing guidelines, good promotional practices, privacy policies, and other policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree:
  • 7+ years’ experience

Additional Preferences:

  • Ideally at least 5 years’ media agency experience
  • Communications, Marketing, Media or Business
  • Requires broad expertise across multiple media channels preferably with both offline and online planning experience with strong experience with various Planning Tools, Media Measurement and Media Mix Modeling
  • Comfortable with change and ambiguity and ability to resolve problems.
  • Highly collaborative in nature and understand how to get things done within a complex, layered organization.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-directed, with strong decision-making skills, strong project management, budget management and prioritization skills
  • Have a consistent record in influencing levels above them and outside of their functional area and a service attitude.
  • Record of successfully leading cross-functional teams to deliver results

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$127,500 - $187,000

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
