Job Summary
We are looking for an Associate Director to support the Head of APAC Marketing in the execution of marketing strategies and campaigns for Barings in both Institutional and Wealth distribution channels. The role will play a key role in driving Barings’ marketing strategy across Hong Kong, China and Southeast Asia. The role focuses on developing integrated marketing campaigns, strengthening media and PR presence, coordinating regional events, and ensuring high‑quality marketing materials that reinforce Barings’ brand and regulatory standards. It requires close collaboration with global, regional, and local stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution.
Primary Responsibilities
Marketing Campaign Management
- Assist the Head of APAC marketing to provide market intelligence and support the development and refinement of marketing strategies for Hong Kong, China and Southeast Asia.
- Translate marketing strategies into actionable, multi‑channel campaigns to drive product promotion, brand visibility, and client engagement.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key industry partners, agencies, and vendors.
- Work closely with global & regional marketing teams, regional offices, local sales, and compliance teams to fully leverage resources and ensure alignment with the Barings brand.
- Manage marketing budgets for Hong Kong, China and Southeast Asia, ensuring spend governance and reporting.
- Evaluate campaign effectiveness and track KPIs for continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of marketing and regulatory developments, ensuring adherence to SFC advertising guidelines and internal standards.
- Identify and escalate potential risks where appropriate.
Marketing Literature & Content Production
- Coordinate the production, adaptation, and translation of sales and marketing materials, including sales flyers, one‑pagers, commentaries, and thought leadership.
- Collaborate with Investment Communications and regional teams to localize global content where applicable.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of all marketing materials, including application of correct disclaimers and regulatory disclosures.
- Maintain ongoing updates of marketing literature with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
Events, sponsorship & merchandise
- Serve as a coordinator for Barings events, ensuring brand consistency and message alignment across markets.
- Manage industry sponsorship deliverables and coordinate on-site branding merchandise and digital assets.
- Manage full event life‑cycle, including pre‑event proposals, logistics coordination, and post‑campaign performance evaluation.
- Partner with sales and external vendors to deliver high‑quality, client‑focused events.
- Assist in managing merchandise needs of the sales teams, maintaining relationships with suppliers, managing costs, and contributing new ideas.
Digital & Multimedia Marketing
- Assist in developing and monitoring E-marketing initiatives to support Institutional and Wealth distribution channels.
- Contribute content and ongoing updates to Hong Kong, China and Singapore websites, WeChat, and LinkedIn, ensuring compliance with global brand guidelines.
- Explore opportunities to enhance Barings’ digital presence through new e‑tools, platforms, and digital marketing techniques.
- Partner with sales teams to raise awareness and drive usage of Barings’ digital channels.
- Work closely with Digital and Content teams on global marketing initiatives and contribute local insights
- Assist in managing the local website via the CMS and ensure that information is up to date
Public & Media Relations
- Assist the Head of APAC Marketing to coordinate PR activities in partnership with PR and media agencies, including press releases, spokesperson interviews, and media briefings.
- Maintain relationships with local and regional media and support designated spokespersons on media enquiries and interviews.
- Translate and distribute regular media coverage reports to internal stakeholders.
- Work with global teams to adapt global content for local PR use and support media initiatives in the region where relevant.
General Housekeeping
- Maintain and keep a proper filing system for respective marketing materials, and approved POS by Compliance officer for audit purposes
- Record event expenses and ensure filings are completed properly and in a timely manner
Additional Tasks
- Familiarize the regulations about the Code on Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds to facilitate understanding of the requirements for adherence to the Code.
- Fulfil additional, relevant, tasks appropriate to the role and business requirements
- Act as backup of the team as and when necessary
Qualifications
- University Degree preferably in Marketing, Finance, Communications, Business Administration
- 7 to 10 years of experience in asset management or financial services is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and risk management
- Proven ability to manage integrated marketing campaigns, events and PR programs
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask across markets
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- An enthusiastic team player with the ability to work independently
- High attention to detail, strong writing skills (English and Chinese)
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Cvent is a plus
