Associate Director of the Data Practices team, you will lead Managed Services client projects, combining strategic leadership, operational excellence, and customer success to drive innovation within the life sciences industry. This role requires a hands-on technical mindset, strong business acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Manage multiple teams to ensure successful execution of client projects.
  • Develop and communicate objectives, priorities, and strategic plans.
  • Provide coaching and career development guidance to direct reports.
  • When assigned line management responsibilities, regularly connect with team members, assess their work, and be fully accountable for their outcomes.
  • Demonstrate measurable annual upskilling for self and team on new technologies and certifications.

Client Engagement

  • Define client needs, develop proposals, and oversee end-to-end project implementation.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of client business and coordinate multi-country solutions.
  • Conduct requirements gathering, elaboration, and documentation.
  • Conduct operational reviews and manage solution releases for smooth transitions.
  • Keep customer delivery as the highest priority in a fast-paced environment.

Product & Portfolio Management

  • Define and execute strategic direction for the Data Practices delivery portfolio.
  • Develop long-term plans aligned with business objectives, supporting next-gen Operational Data Exchange (Snowflake platform).
  • Create and prioritize product roadmaps based on business impact and market trends.
  • Constantly evaluate emerging technologies and assess ROI for proposed implementations.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Engage with cross-functional teams (engineering, data science, operations).
  • Collaborate with leadership, internal/external partners, and negotiate SLAs and contracts.
  • Provide clear direction to architects and technical leads to ensure alignment toward common goals.

Risk & Performance Management

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to technology and market dynamics.
  • Define KPIs and regularly assess performance against targets.
  • Be accountable for achieving industry benchmark NPS scores to retain customers and secure references.

Technical & Hands-On Expectations

  • Act as a Business Analyst/Data Analyst and Technical Lead in an individual contributor capacity.
  • Provide measurable outcomes rather than focusing on hours spent.
  • Create leads for BA, DA, Architect, and Delivery work to ensure continuity during absence.
  • Manage conflict within the team and across the organization; handle difficult conversations when necessary.
  • Fully accountable for project delivery and team outcomes when in a line management role.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, Business, or Engineering.

Experience:

  • Several years in product or service management within pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Proven ability to manage complex product portfolios and interdependencies.
  • Strong understanding of CTMS products and ICH E6 (R3) guidelines.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic thinking and market analysis.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Technical understanding of software development, APIs, and integration.
  • Change management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Negotiation and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Thorough understanding of legacy Data Factory, IQVIA CDAS tools, and data flow through IQVIA IT and business systems.
  • Prior contribution to CDAS product or services delivery is an advantage.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $83,600.00 - $232,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
