The Position

The Associate Director, 3PL Regional Relationship Manager is a key function in Organon. Organon has 2 Regional Distribution Centers (DC) in Belgium which operate as the warehouse for Heist but also consolidate volume from other manufacturing sites and ExMs along with also being the distribution center for the Benelux market.

 

The position has multiple direct reports but is accountable for managing the entire outsourced activities in the DC which includes inbound, inventory management, along with transportation of shipments leaving the warehouse which combined  accounts for over 60% of Organon’s global volume.

 

The role is a mixture of operational and strategic management. We need someone with excellent leadership skills to drive improvements along with exceptional strength in communication and the ability to push the supplier forward with multiple initiatives. Continuous improvement and innovation are also key ingredients needing to be provided by your team and by driving success it gives you the platform to make a huge impact for the company and therefore receive lots of high-level exposure.

Responsibilities

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive DC performance at necessary capacity levels while influencing volumes that flow through the DC to make sure that the node is fully utilised
  • Manage the Suppliers in line with the contract and make sure that close follow-up is performed to enforce the supplier meets all challenges
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to clearly understand the business requirements, proactively identify gaps and drive mitigation strategies.
  • Execute upon strong KPI agreements (which this role owns) and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Help execute future projects and utilise Digital Logistics to further improve the DC’s effectiveness
  • Full responsibility of the warehousing budget which means yearly forecasting, managing spend, identifying variances between forecast and actual on monthly basis and identifying trend
  • Innovative approach to Identify and achieve Value Capture.
  • Supervision of virtual documentation team, if relevant
  • Lead projects to implement new business (new product introductions, network changes) or accommodate changing rules & regulations (like Brexit, serialization, GDL implementation).
  • Provide leadership and direction to multiple FTE’s; coach and train employees; responsible for building an effective team that collaborates effectively with various stakeholders within Organon and supplier.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, constructive challenge, team spirit, inclusion, and accountability within your direct team and the EMEA Logistics Services group
  • Prepared to travel to 3PL minimum 1 x week
