WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? 


The Global Equity Derivatives Technology team is embarking on an ambitious modernization initiative for the Sophis platform, transforming how we deliver critical trading and risk management capabilities across Capital Markets. In this role, you will lead the technical evolution of a complex, enterprise-scale system that supports structured notes, options, swaps, and other equity derivatives products. You'll work with a large, global team of developers to enhance system performance, scalability, maintainability, and observability while leveraging cutting-edge AI-assisted development tools. WHAT WILL YOU DO? 

  • Lead software development initiatives to modernize the Sophis platform, focusing on improving performance, scalability, maintainability, and observability across the system
  • Design and implement robust solutions using C#, C++, and Python across Windows and Unix platforms, ensuring architectural excellence and adherence to best practices
  • Anticipate and proactively address scalability and performance challenges before they become bottlenecks, leveraging deep technical expertise and analytical skills
  • Collaborate with global development teams across multiple time zones, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and strategic guidance on complex architectural decisions
  • Drive the adoption of DevOps tools, practices, and metrics to streamline deployment pipelines, improve system reliability, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Leverage AI-assisted coding tools and techniques to accelerate development, improve code quality, and foster innovation within the team
  • Work closely with business partners to understand the lifecycle of equity derivatives trades including settlements, confirmations, forecasting, and other critical processes
  • Contribute to support activities and knowledge sharing, building team capabilities and ensuring smooth operation of production systems

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?


 Must have: 

  • 7+ years of hands-on software development experience in Capital Markets technology, with demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining complex trading or risk systems
  • Advanced programming skills in C#, C++, and Python, with proven ability to write high-performance, maintainable code across Windows and Unix platforms
  • Deep understanding of equity derivatives products (structured notes, options, swaps) and their trade lifecycles including settlements, confirmations, and forecasting
  • Proven track record of identifying and resolving performance and scalability challenges in large-scale, mission-critical systems
  • Strong experience working in global, distributed development teams with excellent communication and collaboration skills


Nice-to-have:  

  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) and ability to integrate these into development workflows
  • Hands-on experience implementing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and observability frameworks
  • Prior experience with the Sophis platform or similar Capital Markets trading/risk management systems
  • Background in platform modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy systems to modern architectures
