WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our office site.

What you’ll be doing:

We're seeking an Associate Director to join the Invoice Finance and ABL sales team within our Corporate Trade and Working Capital (T&WC) team. This is a great opportunity to play a crucial role in the origination and development of Invoice Finance and ABL transactions to our “CIB” (Corporate and Institutional Banking) clients. CIB serves all UK corporates turning over more than £100m per annum, and all Lloyds’ Institutional Banking clients (e.g. specialist SME lenders through to international banking groups).

This role sits within the Asset & Invoice Finance Sales team, a subject matter expert specialist sales team; focusing on business development and delivery of the asset finance and invoice finance/ABL products to the whole of CIB’s client base; principally within the UK, but with a developing focus on US and Europe as well.

The wider T&WC team is a cross-sector product team providing our CIB clients with working capital and lending solutions across not only Invoice Finance, but also Traditional Trade, Open Account (including Receivables, Payables, and Asset Backed lending), Structured Trade and Commodity Finance and Asset Finance.

Your accountabilities will include:

  • Work and build active relationships with CIB relationship and T&WC sales teams across the bank to build innovative Invoice Finance and ABL solutions for new business opportunities to existing and new to bank clients; using Invoice Finance and ABL to help deepen the bank’s client relationship.
  • Working with your immediate team and the Head of CIB Asset & Invoice Finance to define the sales strategy, delivery and business plans for the Invoice Finance team and wider T&WC product set.
  • Finding and developing relationships outside the immediate team to help build sales opportunities and pipeline, both internally (e,g. relationship teams and T&WC colleagues) and externally (e.g. debt advisors and other financial institutions).
  • Present Invoice Finance and ABL ideas and solutions directly to clients (at a senior level), external advisors, and our internal relationship and sales teams.
  • Actively maintain product relationships within the portfolio of existing and agreed target clients.
  • Meeting Group risk and profitability requirements to deliver targeted growth in the T&WC business in terms of Income and Assets.
  • Maintaining a full understanding of our product sets including but not limited to Traditional Trade, Open Account (including Receivables, Payables, Invoice Finance and Asset backed lending), Structured Trade and Commodity Finance and Asset Finance.
  • Prepare and submit product specific credit applications in conjunction with Coverage, aligned with defined strategy and engage with colleagues in Product, Delivery, Lending Execution and Risk as appropriate.

Why join us?

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

What we’re looking for?

  • 3+ years of experience and strong understanding of the invoice finance and ABL product.
  • Experience in originating, structuring, and completing solutions for large corporate clients with a proven track record in partnering and delivering direct business development.
  • Experience of working in a corporate client facing role, interacting directly with large corporate clients and their advisors at a senior level.
  • Experience and understanding of general lending requirements for large corporate clients.
  • Confidence to present ideas clearly to credit partners, collaborating effectively to close successful transactions.
  • Ability to balance business development with a strong risk management ethos.
  • Willingness to be flexible to suite business and client requirements, including frequent travel both to the main London office, but also to client premises around the UK.
