Role Overview

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role sitting at the intersection of technology, data, and Medical Affairs strategy. As the Insights & Analytics Platform Technology Lead, you’ll own the product vision and execution for Gilead’s Medical Affairs Technology (MAT) organization — driving the roadmap, shaping vendor partnerships, and ensuring that the data powering Medical Affairs is reliable, connected, and ready to generate real-world insights.

You’ll be a builder, a connector, and a problem-solver — translating complex business needs into scalable technology solutions that help Gilead’s Medical Affairs teams operate smarter and move faster.

What You’ll Do

Own the Platform Roadmap

  • Drive the technology product strategy for MAT’s insights platforms, keeping them tightly aligned with Medical Affairs goals and Insights Data & Analytics (IDA) priorities

  • Turn business requirements into crisp user stories, functional specs, and acceptance criteria that engineering teams can execute on

  • Lead prioritization, release planning, and delivery milestones — balancing short-term wins with long-term platform maturity across reporting and analytics platforms such as Spotfire, Tableau, DataBricks.

  • Continuously evaluate platform capabilities against evolving needs and proactively push for improvements before gaps become problems

Lead Vendor Partnerships

  • Be the go-to MAT point of contact for key vendors — holding them accountable to SLAs while building strategic, innovation-focused relationships

  • Coordinate releases between vendors and internal IT/engineering teams with standardized, repeatable processes

  • Drive regular performance reviews and keep leadership informed with clear, concise updates

  • Push partners to move faster, build better, and stay aligned with Gilead’s vision

Build a Scalable Operating Model

  • Create the intake processes, documentation templates, and activation playbooks that make MAT platform delivery consistent and repeatable

  • Roll up your sleeves for hands-on implementation support — KT sessions, requirements workshops, release validation, and IT handoffs

  • Socialize best practices across MAT functions to raise the bar on adoption, governance, and operational efficiency

  • Serve as the bridge between IDA’s evolving requirements and the platforms that bring them to life

Govern the Data That Matters

  • Translate IDA-defined data requirements into integration structures across key MAT platforms (MiQ, Publications, MedComms, and more)

  • Own the data flows from MAT platforms into enterprise infrastructure — maintaining lineage documentation and conformance monitoring

  • Define and enforce data standardization protocols so that IDA's quality standards are consistently met across MAT

  • Partner with IT, compliance, and privacy teams to bake governance into MAT platform design from day one — not as an afterthought

What You Bring

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s + 10 years of experience OR Master’s + 8 years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep experience in product ownership or platform management in pharma, biotech, or life sciences

  • A proven track record of managing complex vendor relationships and delivering across multi-stakeholder technology programs

  • Strong command of data architecture concepts — data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, metadata management

  • Familiarity with Medical Affairs workflows and tools

  • Hands-on experience with platforms like Databricks, Tableau, Veeva, IQVIA, or comparable life sciences tech stacks

  • A history of building MAT-style operating models, governance frameworks, and implementation playbooks that actually get used

  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum, Jira, Confluence, and modern requirements documentation practices

  • MBA or Master’s preferred (Healthcare, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field)
