The In-Business Controls team within the Ratings division is dedicated to ensuring operational excellence and robust risk management. The Impact:
In this role you will be instrumental in strengthening Ratings’ ability to anticipate and withstand operational disruptions by embedding resilience into daily risk management. You will enhance regulatory readiness, improve visibility into critical processes and dependencies, and elevate preparedness across the organization through effective execution of the Business Impact Analysis and close partnership with the enterprise ORM program. As an Associate Director, you will drive strategic initiatives that shape the future of operational resilience across the division.

The successful candidate will have global responsibilities covering all departments in Ratings. You will have regular exposure to senior leaders in the Division and Corporate Functions. You will also develop a broad knowledge and skill-set in managing risk and controls.
Responsibilities:
Help manage and mature the Operational Resilience Management Program for Ratings.
Embed operational resilience practices into Ratings’ risk management culture and resiliency framework.
Coordinate operational resilience activities across business, technology, and control functions as part of the integrated enterprise ORM framework.
Lead the end-to-end Business Impact Analysis (BIA) process, ensuring timely identification of critical functions and dependencies.
Support regulatory obligations by maintaining accurate resilience documentation and ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.
Partner with the Corporate ORM program lead on implementing the new business continuity management tool and integrating continuity practices into Ratings operations.
Drive cross-functional projects related to operational resilience and broader operational risk management.
Provide visibility into resilience risks, gaps, and dependencies to senior stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
Develop metrics and risk reporting to track Ratings’ resilience risk and performance
Lead and mentor team members, fostering professional development and building high-performing teams
Drive organizational change initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels to achieve strategic objectives
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,500 to $174,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
10 years of relevant operational and/or risk experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities
Understanding of operational risk management, including how to identify, evaluate and mitigate risk
Knowledge of operational controls, including how to monitor, test and oversee controls
Strong project management skills with experience leading complex, enterprise-wide initiatives
Knowledge of and expertise in Ratings’ policies is highly valued
Able to manage complexity, including in proactively troubleshooting problems or in developing process or other solutions
First-class communication and influencing skills, including in building strong relationships with team members and stakeholders across the organization
Proven ability to think strategically and translate vision into actionable plans
Experience in coaching and developing talent at various levels
Flexible and accommodating work ethic in an ever-changing work schedule
Very high attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment
Demonstrated ability to drive results through others and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or Master's preferred
Experience in executive-level stakeholder management and board-level reporting
Track record of successfully leading organizational transformation initiatives
Strong business acumen with ability to balance risk considerations with business objectives
Experience working in a global, matrixed organization with cross-cultural teams
Right to Work Requirements: This role is limited to persons with an indefinite right to work in the United States.
Hybrid Work Requirements: All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
