Job Description

The Associate Director, Healthcare Practitioner (HCP) Marketing Oncology is a key position within the Oncology marketing team and will report to the Senior Director of HCP Marketing. This person will support brand strategy development and lead core promotion for a product to support metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC and HR+/HER2-).  The successful candidate will contribute in-depth oncology marketing expertise and work closely with internal stakeholders & external partners up to senior levels.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of key HCP personal marketing messaging and tactics for mTNBC and HR+ indications, including support of the launch.

  • Lead implementation of new promotional brand campaign across all channels – primarily personal promotion tactics. 

  • Support development and implementation of mTNBC and HR+ POA in alignment with brand strategy.

  • Support and optimization of investment across professional promotion

  • Define the model for collaborating with the sales organization to identify key business issues, seek continuous feedback, and drive business results; pull through ongoing collaboration and engagement.

  • Inspires the sales force as a passionate and persuasive brand champion.

  • Ensure operational excellence and compliant activation of all key deliverables.

  • Effectively manage agency partners to produce deliverables within timelines and budgets.

  • Work closely with the promotional review committee to review and approve marketing tactics, manage timelines, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

  • Develop and deliver presentations to various internal stakeholders, including the leadership team, field team, and cross-functional colleagues. 

  • Manage the marketing budget closely and ensure expenditure is aligned with the brand strategy and tactical plans.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years’ Experience
    OR

  • Masters' Degree and Eight Years’ Experience
    OR

  • Ph.D. and Five Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA with eight years of experience in marketing in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry, preferably in small and large companies.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Highly proficient in MS Office; skilled at using PowerPoint and Excel to interpret pharmaceutical product forecast models and quantitative analyses.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Pharma industry, broad therapeutic areas/disease states, drugs/treatments, and related regulatory, commercialization, and compliance requirements.

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is required.

  • Recognized expertise in implementing a pharmaceutical communication plan including generating publications, organizing continuing medical education activities and advocacy development.

  • Must be very familiar with industry trends and remain current with competitor’s resources and practices.

  • Must have a successful record of developing external relationships leading to brand advocacy.

  • Must have a track record of successful pharma/biotech patient/community marketing with an understanding of expense budget planning and tracking.

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports.

  • Strong strategic thinker with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy.

  • Excellent analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and understand complex issues and problems, and interpret information in a manner that provides appropriate recommendations to senior management and across functional areas.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines.

  • Must possess sophisticated negotiating, influencing, project management and consulting skills.

  • Organizational skill, including ability to follow assignments through to completion (bias towards execution).

  • Excellent communications skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing are required.

The salary range for this position is: $195,670.00 - $253,220.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
