What is the Opportunity

The Associate Director, Finance Performance Management, Corporate & Investment Banking (C&IB) is a key member of the Capital Markets Performance Management team focusing on U.S. Cash Management (RBC Clear) and Global Corporate Banking. She/He will be assisting in strategic planning and forecasting of financial performance as well as the measurement of business strategies and their alignment to overall franchise objectives.

This role will appeal to individuals who want to grow and work in an area with significant visibility across RBC, who have an appetite for working in a forward looking and innovative environment, intense collaboration and partnering with the U.S. Cash Management and Global Corporate Banking front office business management and broader Finance Performance team advising on key business decisions.

What will you do?

  • Responsible to partner with the U.S. Cash Management (RBC Clear) Business Management team for all Finance related matters.
  • Provide business management and senior Finance Performance management with analysis on financial performance including revenue assessment, cost/efficiency initiatives, FTE & Compensation analysis, balance sheet optimization and market share analysis.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to financial and management reporting to meet business needs and ensure reporting framework aligns with management goals
  • Support the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and 5-year financial strategy review processes
  • Ensuring accuracy of financials through close coordination with Business Management, Finance Performance Management, Product & Financial Control teams
  • Help bridge and analyze client analytics across U.S. Cash Management and Corporate Banking delivering key insights to both businesses
  • Work with Corporate Treasury and Balance Sheet Management teams to refine forecasts and help manage liquidity needs

What you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance with 5 years relevant experience
  • Understanding of Capital Markets industry and products
  • Background in forecasting, planning & financial analysis
  • Ability to work with large sets of data – analyze, interpret results, identify relationship between various data sets and extract key performance theme/drivers and messages from data
  • Proficiency with MS software/tools with especially strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with EPM (IBM Cognos and TM1)
  • Working knowledge of database tool Tableau and experience utilizing it for the dashboard construction is desirable
