POSITION SUMMARY:                           

Reporting to the Director of Events, this role leads sponsorship and fundraising coordination across Boston Medical Center’s signature fundraising events, with a primary focus on supporting frontline fundraising teams through strategic sponsorship management, benefit fulfillment, and stewardship. Working across the Development department and in close collaboration with Operations, Communications, and other cross-functional partners, the position serves as a central liaison to ensure accurate tracking, timely execution, and a high-quality sponsor experience throughout the event lifecycle. The role provides logistical leadership for select event components and manages relationships with key event participants, including patients, faculty, and institutional leadership. Operating with a high degree of independence and without direct supervisory responsibility, the position exercises influence across teams and directly contributes to event revenue, sponsor retention, and operational efficiency in support of BMC’s mission.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Lead sponsorship tracking and execution across BMC’s signature fundraising events, serving as the central liaison between frontline fundraisers and the events team to ensure accurate documentation, benefit fulfillment, revenue reconciliation, and a high-quality sponsor experience.

  • Execute event sponsorship and invitation strategies established by the Director of Events in partnership with Major Giving, Corporate Partnerships, and Operations teams, supporting prospect development, sponsorship solicitations, and the design and allocation of sponsor benefits to align donor interests with fundraising and event objectives.

  • Collaborate with Communications to develop and manage sponsorship collateral and digital content across pre-event, event, and post-event touchpoints, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Collaborate with frontline fundraisers to execute post-event stewardship and year-round stewardship opportunities that support long-term sponsor engagement.

  • Support the events team in the planning and execution of events throughout the year, including leading select events or event components and coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.

  • Partner with the Director of Events to define event objectives and audience strategy and manage detailed project timelines to ensure event and sponsorship deliverables remain on track.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for BMC’s Catwalk for Cancer event committee and model participants, including patients, faculty, and institutional leadership, overseeing the participant nomination process in collaboration with BMC faculty partners.

  • Support the Director of Events in the development, documentation, and refinement of workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness for signature fundraising events.

  • Utilizes BMC’s values as the basis for decision making and to facilitate the division’s hospital mission.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Evening and weekend work as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5-6 years of relevant fundraising event experience

EXPERIENCE

  • Healthcare, academic medicine, or nonprofit fundraising events preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Experience in event management with a strong focus on program and project management for fundraising or donor-facing events.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting fundraising and sponsorship efforts, including donor engagement, stewardship, and revenue tracking in partnership with frontline fundraisers.

  • Proficiency with project management, fundraising, and productivity tools, including Asana or Smartsheet, Microsoft Office Suite, GiveSmart, and CRM systems such as NXT (or comparable platforms).

  • Strong organizational, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Detail-oriented and results-focused, with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through.

  • Healthcare and fundraising event experience preferred

Compensation Range:

$78,000.00- $113,000.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
