The Team:
The EMEA Sell-Side Business Development Team oversees and provides strategic support for growing the EMEA sell-side business, encompassing the commercial banking and investment banking customer segments within the Data & Research (D&R) product portfolio. The team operates in a highly collaborative manner, engaging with a network of cross-functional partners in sales, account management, customer success, product specialists, product management, content, and marketing to support business growth. Our activities are executed across five connected dimensions: customer engagements/deal support, commercial enablement, thought leadership, influencing product strategy, and business performance analysis.

Your Impact:

Responsibilities:

Customer Engagements/Deal Support

  • Provide deal support to commercial partners for new business opportunities and account renewals. Deliver strategic product demos and presentations as required.
  • Collaborate with partners across the organization to execute customer events, including large-scale events like the Capital IQ Power of Pro and S&P Global Roadshows, as well as customer-specific events such as Power Days.
  • Co-manage transformative customer opportunities, including migrations and RFPs.

Commercial Enablement

  • Produce sell-side-focused go-to-market (GTM) resources such as decks, one-pagers, email templates, videos, and demo scripts to support customer outreach and interactions.
  • Collaborate with commercial and marketing partners to execute GTM campaigns that promote our solutions in line with specific sell-side themes or workflows.
  • Host internal forums, presenting updates and facilitating discussions on precedent deal wins, product adoption strategies, new GTM resources, product enhancements, and guidance for value proposition positioning and product demos.

Thought Leadership

  • Be seen as a sell-side industry expert by keeping abreast of industry trends and developments and sharing knowledge through various internal engagements and forums.
  • Proactively produce sell-side thought leadership content, including blogs, infographics, and white papers.
  • Participate in external-facing webinars and speak at industry conferences and events.

Business Performance Analysis

  • Monitor the overall financial performance and health of the EMEA sell-side business, focusing on financial reports, win/loss analysis, and usage patterns to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Produce and deliver business performance presentations to senior management.
  • Stay informed about the competitive landscape and share updates with relevant stakeholders.

Influencing Product Strategy

  • Collaborate closely with product management stakeholders, attending steering committees to voice ideas for enhancement opportunities while channelling commercial and customer feedback.
  • Organize and lead sell-side-focused workflow working groups to drive consensus on investment priorities and action plans.
  • Actively participate in testing newly developed product functionality, ensuring it meets customer expectations.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree-level education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a sell-side focused environment (institution or vendor).
  • Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of desktop and/or data feed solutions (APIs, cloud, feeds) servicing the sell-side community.
  • Proven record of building successful relationships across client organizations.
  • Strong understanding of sell-side workflows, acquired from experience at a sell-side institution or a vendor servicing sell-side personas and workflows.
  • Excellent oratory, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong collaborative skills with a proven ability to work effectively across multiple functional teams in a matrix environment.
  • Positive and determined approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage tasks and projects through to conclusion.
  • Strong work ethic, agility, and the ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce.com, SalesLoft).
  • Ability to navigate product development tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Python expertise.
  • CFA holder or currently studying towards it.
  • Advanced degree.
