Associate Director, DevOps Engineering

The Associate Director, DevOps Engineering will provide strategic and operational leadership across critical DevOps workstreams, including Mainframe DevOps, Salesforce DevOps, Engineering Tools and IDEs, and Centralized DevOps support for Salesforce Segment teams. This role is responsible for guiding teams in delivering secure, efficient, and compliant software development and delivery practices, while optimizing toolchain management and enabling innovation across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction for Mainframe DevOps, Salesforce DevOps, Engineering Tools, and Centralized DevOps workstreams, ensuring alignment with enterprise engineering goals.
  • Oversee the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and standardized pipeline templates.
  • Manage and mentor cross-functional teams of associates and contingent staff, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective governance and compliance with organizational DevOps standards, including security, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the lifecycle management, adoption, and support of DevOps platforms such as Copado for Salesforce, and ISPW Code Pipeline for Mainframe.
  • Drive migration and modernization initiatives for Mainframe and Salesforce applications, leveraging automation and best practices to increase release frequency and reduce manual effort.
  • Lead AI enablement and adoption initiatives among developers within Salesforce and Mainframe segment teams.
  • Manage all developer workstation tools within the Software Catalog to ensure effective usage by end users.
  • Implement and optimize onboarding and enablement processes for new engineers, ensuring efficient time-to-productivity and consistent standards.
  • Lead cost optimization and contract management activities for DevOps tools, including license renewals, usage optimization, and vendor negotiations.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and application teams to drive enterprise vulnerability remediation, access control, and secrets management initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting for DevOps metrics, platform health, and compliance, supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for DevOps platform support, toolchain integration, and incident response.
  • Guide the centralized DevOps engagement model for Salesforce Segment teams, ensuring scalable and consistent enablement and support.
  • Ensure up-to-date and accessible documentation for DevOps platforms, processes, and standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Application Development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing large teams and multiple workstreams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Mainframe and Salesforce DevOps, including pipeline automation, code quality, security compliance, and toolchain management.
  • Strong experience with industry-standard DevOps tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, Copado, ISPW Code Pipeline, SonarQube).
  • Familiarity with engineering tool lifecycle management, license optimization, version management, vulnerability management and vendor engagement.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps governance frameworks, CI/CD best practices, and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOC2).
  • Ability to manage complex change initiatives, drive process standardization, and lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and mentorship skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven reporting and decision-making.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI enablement and automation in DevOps environments.
  • Experience with cost optimization and contract negotiations for engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-scale migration and modernization projects.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$142,300 - $195,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
