Our Novartis Information Security Centre continues to evolve. As part of our continued evolution, we are looking for an Associate Director, Software Asset Management to join our Software Asset Management group!

In this role, you will be a member of the Software Asset Management (SAM) team, responsible for managing the lifecycle of software assets and ensuring that they are properly licensed and utilized within Novartis. You will be working closely with Business Application owners and managers, and with Procurement, to ensure adherence to license agreements, optimize license costs and maximize the use of purchased licenses.

Job Description

Location – Hyderabad #LI Hybrid  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Driving SAM initiatives such as developing and implementing software asset management policies and procedures, Building relationship with key stakeholders in both IT and management

  • Collaborating with IT Functions and Procurement to assess their detailed reporting needs, then mapping needs back to the Software Asset Management tool (USU License Manager (LIMA))

  • Working closely with the IT Functions to ensure they have the proper reporting and knowledge to manage their Business Divisions software license compliance and spend in an effective and cost-efficient manner. Act as SAM business partner to the IT Functions

  • Providing strategy and guidance for improvements in the SAM Roadmap, tools and processes

  • Ensuring that engaged Service Provider/Development Partner meets defined SLAs and deadlines

  • Directly owning a set of software publishers from technical, contractual, and commercial points of view. Supervising data quality and maintaining regular license balance reporting

  • Aligning reporting needs with new technology usage of Novartis (i.e., XaaS, Artificial Intelligence, containers, virtualization…etc.)

  • Leading SW vendor audits with relevant scrutiny and reports. Fully understand reporting obligations towards publishers and ensure financial impact is estimated and risks addressed with the relevant stakeholders

Desirable Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable education/experience

  • 10+ years in the SAM field and strong expertise in SAM principles, processes and tools (USU LIMA is a plus)

  • Proven ability to operate successfully in a matrixed organisation with ability to build and maintain relationships with senior IT and Business stakeholders at various levels of seniority.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in English (written and oral)
