Design, build, and optimize scalable batch and real-time data pipelines across enterprise systems and analytics platforms.
Architect and implement modern data lake/lakehouse solutions on AWS (S3, EMR, Redshift), leveraging distributed processing frameworks such as Spark or Flink.
Remain hands-on in development—contributing to critical pipeline design, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and code reviews.
Partner with Data Science and Machine Learning teams to design and productionize feature engineering pipelines and data workflows supporting AI/ML use cases.
Build and maintain highly available, reliable, and performant data platforms that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and low latency.
Establish and enforce data engineering best practices, including coding standards, reusable frameworks, and metadata-driven pipeline design.
Collaborate with enterprise architecture and data governance teams to align data platforms with organizational standards, canonical models, and domain-driven design principles.
Design and implement scalable data integration patterns, including batch ingestion, streaming pipelines (e.g., Kafka), and Change Data Capture (CDC).
Oversee the development and orchestration of pipelines using tools such as Airflow, Step Functions, or equivalent workflow engines.
Drive performance optimization and cost efficiency across data platforms and cloud infrastructure.
Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies in big data, cloud, and streaming to continuously improve platform capabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product, analytics, and business stakeholders—to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Monitor and improve platform reliability through observability, alerting, and proactive issue resolution.
Communicate architecture decisions, trade-offs, and progress effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
10–14 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong foundation in system design, coding standards, and best practices.
8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, building scalable and reliable data platforms in enterprise environments.
4+ years of experience designing and implementing modern data lake and lake house architectures using AWS services such as S3, Redshift, EMR, Databricks and distributed processing frameworks (Hadoop, or Flink).
Strong programming expertise in Python, Java, or Scala, with deep understanding of object-oriented design, functional programming concepts, and performance optimization.
Proven experience managing AWS infrastructure in production environments, including EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, Route 53, and load balancing across multi-account setups.
Experience with real-time and batch data integration technologies such as Kafka, along with schema evolution and event-driven architectures.
Solid understanding of microservices architecture, containerization and orchestration frameworks, along with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including designing secure, scalable, and cost-optimized data solutions.
Deep knowledge of data modeling techniques (dimensional, normalized, and canonical models) and data warehousing concepts.
Hands-on experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Step Functions, or similar) and metadata-driven framework design.
Expertise in building high-performance, fault-tolerant ETL/ELT pipelines, including incremental processing, CDC (Change Data Capture), and data quality validation.
