Job Description

What is the opportunity?                                                                                        

The Associate Director, Credit Structures, is a specialized role within RBC Private Banking. You will deliver on the RBC promise of superior client service through efficient and dedicated support to the Directors, Credit Structures, in information gathering, credit structuring, deal negotiation, risk approval, and loan closing, to complete structured credit transactions for some of our largest and most complex transactions and clients.

What you will do?

  • Conduct annual credit reviews of complex borrowing relationships within the Private Banking wholesale portfolio
  • Partner with Private Bankers and credit team members to gather information for annual reviews and new credit transactions
  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis of borrowers and guarantors on large, complex transactions
  • Structure credit solutions for personal holding companies, professional corporations, and trusts
  • Conduct securities and portfolio analysis
  • Coach and mentor junior credit team members
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to special projects

What do you need to succeed?                                                                                        

Must-have

  • University degree in related field (Commerce, Finance, etc.)

  • Excellent communication skills and client-focused mindset

  • Strong lending experience including the ability to formulate creative lending solutions, build effective loan structures, and complete detailed analyses of complex financial statements

  • Advance Excel and Financial Modeling skills

  • Ability to manage strict deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in Commercial and/or Capital Markets, including lending and account management or risk management

  • Experience with Synergy, CCR and Newton systems
