We’re at the heart of the Corporate and Institutional Bank (CIB), serving large clients (typically £100m+ turnover) with strong UK links. Our disciplined, purpose-led growth strategy leverages expertise in transaction banking, debt financing, and risk management to Help Britain Prosper.

As an Associate Director, you’ll be a key player in a centre of excellence; partnering with business lines across CIB and delivering best in class analytics and insights to drive growth, uncover client needs and opportunities, and support strategic planning.

The role is well suited for a genuinely curious, energetic and pro-active individual who thrives on data and details, with strong communication and story-telling skills whilst also being able to produce insightful analysis at pace.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Embedding an effective performance management framework across the whole of CIB, which covers sectors, industries, regions, and products
  • Providing performance management, data analysis and insights, identifying trends and themes and working with client-facing colleagues to convert these into practical actions
  • Partnering with business leads for debt and lending origination and product management to maintain a timely accurate flow of information to support decision making
  • Being an excellent partner to internal stakeholders, advocating for team requirements while building strong relationships (including Product, Finance, Risk, Strategy and COO)
  • Working with Product teams and across Balance Sheet Management to improve accuracy of business forecasts and enhance our business insight tooling

What you’ll need:

  • Communication: A proven communicator who is able to use story-telling to engage confidently and effectively and with a senior Managing Director audience.
  • Analytical Skills: The ability to interpret a range of data and produce insightful, action-orientated analysis and insights at pace, using qualitative and quantitative data sources.
  • Product & Client Knowledge: Practical knowledge of the products we offer and the range of clients we serve in CIB, with experience of Lending or Debt Solutions a significant benefit
  • Commercial Banking Experience - A strong working knowledge of Commercial drivers within a CIB including capital allocation, profitability and broader balance sheet metrics.
  • Technical capability: A high level of competence in Excel and PowerPoint is essential. Experience with any of the following would be beneficial; SQL, Python, Power BI, MS Dynamics
  • Organisational and Time Management Skills -  The ability to prioritise many, highly varied tasks simultaneously, while working confidently in a fast paced environment
  • Proactivity & Curiosity: A desire to drive your own development, in order to adapt to a constantly evolving and competitive environment
