King Associate Director, Change & Business Operations
Location: London, Stockholm
Employment Type: FTC (14 months)
Reports to: Director of Change & Business Operations > VP, Business Operations > COO
Context
- We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Change & Business Operations to lead and execute strategic organisational initiatives that shape the future of our business and employee experience
- This role will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership and part of our Business Operations team, driving complex change programmes, optimising operational processes, and supporting our workplace transformation across a hybrid, global environment
- The ideal candidate brings a unique blend of project leadership, business operations and commercial acumen, stakeholder management excellence, and a passion for change and employee experience
- This role is a 14-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) to provide cover during a planned absence, starting from February onwards
Reporting line and team
- You’ll report into the ‘Strategic Projects’ function under Business Operations and be dedicated to King, working within the Business Operations Team
- Depending on projects, you’ll collaborate with other parts of Microsoft and Xbox subsidiaries
Responsibilities
Driving strategic projects
- Ensure project management rigor, including timelines, stakeholder alignment, risks, resources, success metrics and retros
- Prepare materials for Steering Committees and senior forums, including project updates, risk assessments, scoping documents, and executive presentations.
Organisational Change & Transformation including M&A integration & workforce transitions
- Lead and manage strategic and sensitive organisational change programmes, including restructuring, leadership transitions, employee transfers (TUPE), and M&A-related integration.
- Develop and maintain change and communication plans that ensure transparency, alignment, and a high-quality employee experience throughout change cycles as well as operational readiness for post Day 1
- Partner with HR, Legal, and senior leaders to design future-state org structures, support decision-making, and manage associated risk and compliance considerations.
- Partner closely with People, Finance, Workplace, IT, Legal and Comms teams to deliver seamless end-to-end outcomes that strengthen our operating model, real estate, ways of working and enable high-performing teams.
- Support integration projects with MSFT as we continue to harmonize some of our products, tools and teams to MSFT standards
Business Operations, Workplace transformation and Cross-Functional collaboration
- Support cross-functional interactions via Projects with Finance, Workplace Management, Payroll, IT, Tax, Legal, Comms, and Chief of Staff teams aligned to the Operations strategy
- Help support IFM outsourcing arrangements for Workplace services across multiple EMEA locations
- Support strategy, planning, and execution of real estate initiatives, office transitions and workspace optimisation
Experience
- Experience managing Leadership and Leadership teams aligning to global corporate strategic priorities
- Experience working on restructuring or employee transfers across EMEA with demonstrable organisational change success
- Experience and knowledge of business operations as a whole and collaborating across many different functions e.g. IT, Workplace/ real estate, HR, Employment Legal, commercial finance, FP&A, payroll etc.
- Experience working in multicultural global environments or international companies would be beneficial
- Working in a large tech firm
Nice to have
- Any experience working with outsourcing preferable but not essential
- Experience working in a post-merger environment a plus
