The Role:

An opportunity has arisen to work within the Capital Solutions & UK Commercial team within M&G Real Estate. The team is responsible for M&G Real Estate’s separate account business including joint ventures, club deals and portfolio solutions in addition to capital markets and asset management across our commercial real estate book. Key responsibilities will involve assisting the team with the creation of new strategies, the structuring of investment vehicles and underwriting and executing of transactions predominantly across the UK but also in European Real Estate markets. Transactions will be at both the Opco and Propco level.

Key Responsibilities for this Role:

Financial and analytical support:

  • Creation and/or review of detailed financial models relating to real estate investments, portfolios and fund vehicles.
  • Evaluate, structure and negotiate (as appropriate) investments, to include legal documentation and restructurings.
  • Provide written and financial analysis to support investments, refinancings & disposals.
  • Make verbal and written presentations to fund managers, Investment Committees and other relevant committees as required.
  • Support Directors to manage relationships with partners, intermediaries and sponsors, in relation to specific opportunities and transactions.

Governance  and product development:

  • Working with product development on the creation of new investment vehicles,  including but not limited to preparation of documentation, facilitation of shareholders consent, liaison with external lawyers etc 
  • Development and maintenance of User Developed  Applications (UDA) and fund documentation  

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent analysis (legal and financial) and valuation skills which will include appropriate financial modelling skills.
  • Ideally familiar with standard loan documentation and key aspects of transaction implementation including covenant setting, security taking and ongoing controls and restrictions
  • An interest in real estate investments, as well as corporates. Relevant real estate investment expertise would be helpful but not essential.
  • Experience in Fund administration and knowledge of Private Equity, Fixed Income instruments is beneficial.
  • Confidence & excellent communication both oral and written is a must to communicate at all levels within the organisation & externally
  • Strong and flexible work ethic, willingness to travel occasionally and ability to work effectively both independently and within teams.
  • Must be self-motivated with ability to prioritise own workload to meet team and business deadlines.
