Associate Director, Business Analyst - Risk Aggregation/Services (Capital Markets)

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

This Business Analyst role within Quantitative and Technology Services (QTS), consists of assessing, improving and supporting strategic applications within the RAMPP (Risk, Analytics, Modelling, Pricing & Processing) organization. The individual will tackle and deliver complex problems, providing robust, efficient and strategic solutions that have lasting impact on the RAMPP organization and Capital Markets businesses alike. This individual will contribute to impactful “Big Rock” programs, such as Risk Modernization and FX Modernization.

This individual will work closely with Capital Markets trading teams and technology teams alike to define project requirements, coordinate testing efforts and provide support on implementations where needed. This candidate possesses excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Manage the implementation of multiple concurrent initiatives of varying complexity in a time efficient manner.  Monitor and control activities according to plan.  

  • Elicit and analyze business requirements and create documentation such as current and future state business process, user stories, data catalogues, and business rules.

  • Communicate effectively, written and verbal, to various audiences (technical and non-technical)

  • Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks.  Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate.

  • Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.

  • Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.

  • Contribute to ongoing administrative program activities as required.

  • Utilize state of the art Gen-AI tools to realize efficiencies in day-to-day practices and general work life

  • Build end-state reporting for key stakeholders with the use of in-house built tools and python coding

  • Standardize and drive cross-asset Risk Management analytics/solutions/dashboards & liaise with Quants/Trading/Market Risk partners to drive their user-adoption

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

 Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree coupled with experience in complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities.

  • 7+ years related experience

  • 3+ years working in capital markets

  • Strong foundations of Capital Markets covering Trade Capture/processing and Risk analytics/generation

  • Programming knowledge and/or experience in a core language such as Java or Python

  • Ability to build/analyze complex queries in SQL

  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.

  • A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.

  • Excellent analytical skills – proven experience conducting data analysis/discovery/aggregation as a foundation to providing meaningful analysis and management reporting to facilitate business decisions

  • Should be tenacious, result-oriented and have proven track record in dealing with unknown-unknowns

  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong foundations of Macro (or other) asset class
