The Team: 

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Associate Director, Application Development to join our dynamic and fast-paced team at S&P Global. This role will focus on leveraging cutting-edge GIS technologies and a suite of modern development tools to enhance our mapping capabilities within the Capital IQ Pro application. The ideal candidate will be eager to challenge themselves and their peers, embracing new technologies and methodologies, including generative AI, to drive innovation and improve user experiences. 

 
Responsibilities and Impact: 

Application Development: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions using technologies such as .NET, ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, SQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis. 

  • Implement and optimize GIS functionalities using Mapbox, LeafletJS, and other mapping technologies to enhance the Capital IQ Pro application. 

  • Explore and integrate generative AI technologies to create innovative mapping solutions, enabling users to visualize and analyze complex data in new ways. 

  • Collaborate with team members to create innovative features and functionalities that meet user needs and expectations. 

Innovation and Technology Adoption: 

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in GIS and application development, to identify opportunities for innovation. 

  • Experiment with tools and frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LLM, CopilotKit, AG-UI, and MCP to drive improvements in application performance and user engagement. 

  • Lead initiatives to investigate the application of generative AI in mapping, developing prototypes and proof-of-concept projects to showcase its potential benefits. 

Collaboration and Teamwork: 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure seamless integration of mapping solutions within the Capital IQ Pro ecosystem. 

  • Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and team discussions to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 

Quality Assurance: 

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality software by performing thorough testing and debugging of applications. 

  • Contribute to the development of best practices, coding standards, and documentation to enhance team productivity and software maintainability. 

User Engagement: 

  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that enhance the user experience of the Capital IQ Pro application. 

  • Gather feedback from users to iterate on features and make data-driven decisions for future enhancements. 

What We’re Looking For: 

 Basic Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Overall, 11-14 years of experience in software development, particularly in web applications. 

  • Proficiency in .NET, ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, SQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis. 

  • Familiarity with generative AI concepts and their application in software development and mapping is highly desirable.

  • Analytical Thinking:Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in advanced analytical methodologies, adept at using sophisticated tools and techniques to tackle intricate business challenges. 

  • Problem Solving:Capable of synthesizing information from various sources, evaluating potential impacts, and making informed decisions that drive positive outcomes. 

  • Collaboration:Exhibits exceptional skills in leading collaborative initiatives, fostering an inclusive environment where all voices are heard. 

  • Communication: Able to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively across functions and levels, promoting open dialogue and understanding. 

Additional Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with GIS technologies such as Mapbox and LeafletJS 

  • Familiarity with modern development practices, including Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
