Job Summary:

The Derivatives Trading Operations Team is responsible for managing the operations for the trading of futures and options on various underlying assets or indices such as equity indices, equities, currency, interest rate and fixed income products, and developing the rules and policies for derivatives market trading. It operates and monitors the derivatives trading system and operations and ensures that the trading environment is transparent, fair, orderly and efficient according to the relevant rules and regulations established by the exchange.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform night desk operations (7pm - 4am) in the derivatives market including trading, clearing, risk control and market data in accordance with rules, policies and procedures 
  • Spot and resolve any process abnormalities at night hours and maintain a resilient derivatives trading environment
  • Handle inquiries from participants and other internal / external stakeholders
  • Support ad hoc projects such as new product launch, process automation, user acceptance testing, internal and external drill

Requirements:

  • University Degree holder preferably in Finance/ Statistics/ Information Technology or related disciplines;
  • Sound knowledge of the derivatives products, market practices and the trading platform;
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience in finance/ equity trading business. High-calibre candidates with less experience will also be considered;
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage;
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge in Power BI, SQL and VBA an advantage;
  • High agility with growth mindset; a self-starter, team player and good communicator with sound judgment and good problem-solving skills;
  • Shift duties are required, and work experience with shift duties is an added advantage
