Scope
The Debt Capital Solutions team at Houlihan Lokey is looking to add an Associate to our London office.

Responsibilities
- Work as part of lean deal teams on financing advisory mandates, gaining significant exposure to senior team members and clients
- Support on the execution of a variety of different debt transactions including private, public and hybrid loans, private placements, and public bonds
- Serve as a point of contact for clients in the day-to-day management of transactions including leading selected workstreams
- Oversee junior team members in the preparation of presentation and transaction materials
- Support senior team members with client dialogue and relationship management – with the ability to present to and hold conversations with senior clients essential
- Engage in and manage due diligence processes, including coordinating work by other professional advisors
- Assist in analysing and negotiating financing terms and documentation and delivering expert advice to clients
- Research, monitor and analyse financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry and economic conditions for use in advising clients
- Build and maintain bespoke financial models with support from junior team members
- Undertake debt capacity, financial covenant, and credit rating modelling
- Assist with the wider team's marketing initiatives
- Build own network of contacts within active debt investors including banks, credit funds, hedge funds and other alternative lenders
- Contribute to the firm’s Private Equity relationships
- Mentor junior analysts, helping to create a collaborative team environment
Basic Qualifications/ Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- An excellent academic track record and achieved a 2:1 or equivalent degree
- 3-6 years of experience within Debt Advisory
- A demonstrated track record of executing transactions
- Excellent financial modelling, finance and accounting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to persuade and influence others
- A strong work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and workstreams simultaneously while maintaining excellent attention to detail and a desire to take the initiative
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats and limitations
- The ability to work well in a team-oriented environment building effective relationships with multiple stakeholders internally and externally
- The motivation to work in a collaborative, rapidly changing, demanding but ultimately rewarding environment
Preferred Qualifications/ Requirements
- Fluent proficiency (written and spoken) in one or more other European languages is a bonus, but not essential
