Job Overview: 

The Associate Data Recon Analyst serves as an expert responsible for delivering exceptional customer support for LPL’s mutual fund and alternative investment data. This data supports a wide range of reporting needs, including advisor and client reporting, firm-level financial reporting, and risk reporting. 

In this role, the Associate Data Recon Analyst will leverage multiple tools and data sources to evaluate sponsor-provided documentation—such as fund prospectuses—and accurately translate and input the information into the trading database user interface. The position is also accountable for validating the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all mutual fund data inputs. 

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of investment products, with a focus on mutual funds and alternative investments. They are naturally inquisitive, detail-oriented, and motivated to continuously learn. Success in this role requires comfort communicating with internal and external cross-functional partners, including Operations, Product Management, Trading, and Risk Management. 

This position thrives in an agile environment and requires the ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain precision and quality in all work delivered. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

  • Develop deep subject‑matter expertise in the Security Master function. 

  • Manage and execute monthly quality‑control processes. 

  • Oversee data flow and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timely processing of data into downstream systems. 

  • Partner with internal and external business units to research and resolve investment‑data issues. 

  • Troubleshoot reconciliation discrepancies reported by advisors. 

  • Compile metrics and create reporting to support trend analysis and RPMs. 

  • Assist with projects supporting both client‑facing and internal system enhancements. 

  • Maintain and update department procedures to ensure alignment with current processes. 

  • Collaborate with team members to manage multiple, overlapping customer requests. 

  • Provide customer support through escalation management and clear, comprehensive explanations. 

  • Review, validate, and research industry announcements, resolving any identified discrepancies. 

  • Work cross‑functionally to identify and correct recurring operational or data‑quality issues.

Requirements: 

  • 2+ years in the brokerage or financial services industry

 

Core Competencies:  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Word, Outlook, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of time and money weighted performance calculations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong customer service skills

 

Preferences: 

  • 2+ years of customer service experience (phone and email experience)
  • Knowledgeable of a wide range of financial investment vehicles including but not limited to Mutual Funds, Alternative Investments, and ETPs.
  • Advanced skills with Excel
  • SQL experience 
  • Alteryx experience, Alteryx Certification/license is a plus
  • SIE, Series 7 or 99 preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree 


 

Pay Range:

$23.29-$38.81/hour


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
