Impact's data analytics team is looking for an Associate Data Analyst who's ready to build real analytical skills on complex, large-scale data. This is an entry-level role where you'll develop foundational skills in data analysis, SQL, and business intelligence while delivering well-scoped analyses under guidance from senior analysts.
You'll collect, analyse, and interpret datasets to identify patterns and trends, develop insights, and inform decisions across the business. You'll work with large-scale datasets in BigQuery and build visualisations in Looker, developing analytical rigour and business understanding that form the foundation of a strong analytics career. You'll work as part of a collaborative, globally distributed analytics team, with mentorship from a Senior Data Analyst. Our ideal candidate is curious, has solid SQL skills, and is passionate about using data to solve real business problems.
● Under guidance from senior analysts, deliver accurate, well-documented analyses that follow established methods and meet team quality standards.
● Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, clean, and analyse data from large, complex datasets in BigQuery.
● Build and maintain dashboards and reports that provide clear, actionable insights tostakeholders.
● Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in business performance data.
● Develop working knowledge of business metrics, KPIs, and data models across your assigned domain.
● Validate data accuracy by reconciling analyses against source systems and documenting assumptions.
● Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
● Collaborate with analytics engineers to define requirements and validate data products.
● Build your technical toolkit through pairing, feedback, and hands-on experience with statistical methods and visualisation tools.
● 0–2 years of experience in a data analysis, business intelligence, or related role
● Strong SQL skills, comfortable with complex queries, joins, aggregations, and window functions
● Foundational understanding of statistical concepts and quantitative methods
● Experience with or eagerness to learn data visualisation tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
● Exposure to or interest in Python or R for data analysis and manipulation, familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery is a bonus
● Strong quantitative reasoning and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
● Good written and verbal communication skills
● Curiosity and an appetite to develop expertise in business domains
● Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
● Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus
