Shipt is growing, and we are searching for an Associate Corporate Counsel, Litigation to join our team! We are looking for a highly motivated attorney to join our Legal Team and help fuel the Company’s rapid growth. 

The Job: You'd be an Associate Corporate Counsel focusing on Litigation for Shipt, helping the Legal team keep things running smoothly, compliant, and low-risk as the company grows.

Who You Report To: The Senior Corporate Counsel, Litigation.

Your Impact:

Handle discovery requests: review them, draft responses, find documents, and make sure sensitive information is protected.

Assist the Litigation Team with research, interviewing witnesses, drafting legal documents, managing files, preparing for/summarizing depositions, and getting corporate representatives ready for depositions.

Track and respond to subpoenas (civil/law enforcement), administrative investigations, and legal inquiries.

Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to keep the workflow efficient.

Help out with regular reporting (financial, executive, etc.) on legal matters.

Assist with other tasks/assignments as requested by the Senior Corporate Counsel or VP of Litigation.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

    • A J.D. from an ABA-accredited school and an active state bar membership.

    • At least 2 years of experience handling litigation matters, either at a national law firm or in-house, in multiple jurisdictions.

    • Location: You need to be based in Birmingham, AL or Minneapolis, MN.
       

  • Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications):

    • Litigation experience with personal injury, product liability, employment, independent contractor status, mass arbitration, IP, or class action matters.

    • Great with large data sets, spreadsheets, and making charts/formulas.

    • Experience in a Gig economy or modern tech company.

    • Super detail-oriented and good at juggling priorities in a fast-paced setting.

    • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).

    • Can work independently ("hands-off environment") and good at problem-solving.

    • Can use sounds judgment with little oversight and handle confidential info.

    • Knows their way around a Mac and Google Apps (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive), Slack, and DocuSign.

    • Experience with e-discovery platforms like Logikull.

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader.  Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Employees (and eligible family members) are covered by medical, dental, vision and more.  Employees may enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also be eligible to receive discretionary vacation for exempt team members, paid holidays throughout the calendar year and paid sick leave.  Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Pay Range:

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and New York City: 

$123,000-$247,000

All other locations:

$109,000-$219,000

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
