The Opportunity:
In this position, you will be responsible for searching, gathering, drafting, analyzing, reviewing and maintaining Genentech’s Managed Care Contracts.
This work includes effectively working with Contract Managers and other internal partners in reviewing contract needs and requirements in alignment with Genentech’s contracting strategies, business objectives, and compliance requirements.
Communication & Contracting Excellence: Synthesizes complex information into clear, concise, actionable communications; drafts and explains contract terms with strong comprehension of legal and business implications; and prepares baseline contracts, amendments, notices, and revised drafts.
Adaptability & Independent Execution: Thrives in ambiguity, embraces change, and demonstrates strong prioritization and autonomy—effectively managing tasks such as gathering contract documentation, entering data in CLM systems, and responding to ad hoc requests.
Collaboration & Relationship Building: Builds trusting relationships with internal partners and stakeholders, contributing to a collaborative environment that supports smooth contract operations and cross-functional alignment.
Continuous Improvement & Agile Mindset: Embeds continuous improvement, agility, and collective leadership principles in day-to-day work, driving efficiency, accuracy, and operational excellence across contracting workflows.
Technical & Industry Knowledge: Possesses—or can quickly acquire—working understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and managed care segments, various contract types, Genentech products, and contract-related systems to execute responsibilities effectively and consistently.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant or transferable work experience, including prior experience in contract drafting and the ability to learn policies and guidelines impacting contracts.
Technical Proficiency: High level of expertise with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, with the capability to work efficiently across digital tools and systems.
Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and settings.
Performance & Results: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives and goals, showing reliability, accountability, and consistency in execution.
Preferred Qualifications
JD or other related graduate-level degree
Managed care experience
Related experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or related industry
