Job Summary:  

The Associate Compensation Consultant is part of the greater People & Technology consulting team providing advice and solutions to clients across various industries, helping them to address business challenges and achieve their business goals. The Associate Compensation Consultant spends most of their time developing compensation market analysis deliverables used for these clients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews background information (e.g., project proposal, client website, org charts, job descriptions, pay structures, compensation policies, etc.) to develop an understanding of the client and their project.
  • Utilizes market analysis templates (Excel file and Word doc) to set up the project files with appropriate branding, data sources, labor market scope factors, job titles, etc. with 100% accuracy.
  • Compiles compensation data from multiple online compensation data sources to educate clients on market-competitive compensation rates for their jobs.  
  • Completes a thorough review of their project work and finalizes project files into PDF deliverables used for consulting with clients.  
  • Updates files, as needed, based on client feedback.
  • Reviews and edits proposals, presentations and reports. Utilizes Adobe Acrobat to finalize into prospect and client deliverables.
  • Completes research on compensation and HR best practices and trends. Summarizes findings used for consulting with clients.
  • Updates market analysis templates monthly to reflect current effective dates for market analysis data sources.
  • Responsible for updating compensation marketing materials (e.g., market analysis samples, peer analysis samples, etc.) at least twice a year. Develops new marketing materials as needed.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • One to three years professional experience required. Human Resources and/or Compensation experience preferred.

Job Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of compensation and human resources trends, best practices and related laws.
  • Very strong attention to detail to ensure accurate information is presented and in a visually appealing manner.
  • Enjoys working with numerical data and formulas. Has strong Excel skills.
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • Proficient with other Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple work assignments and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to keep work on schedule and meet project deadlines with expected work quality.
  • Quick learner with common sense.
  • Research skills and the ability to compile data and information from multiple sources and synthesize it to create a big-picture understanding of the topic.
  • Clear communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Receptive to feedback.
  • Driven to achieve outstanding results and seeks opportunities to learn new things. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Disclosure required under applicable law in California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, and Washington states: The expected salary range for this position is $ 55,000 to $60,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
